POS Stock Guard
Enforce Stock Availability & Zero-Price Prevention in Point of Sale
Overview
POS Stock Guard prevents your cashiers from selling products that are out of stock or have insufficient quantity on hand. With real-time stock checks at the moment of product selection, you can protect your inventory accuracy and avoid overselling — whether products are scanned via barcode or selected manually. Optional features let you hide out-of-stock products entirely and block zero-priced sales.
Key Features
Real-Time Stock Enforcement
Blocks adding a product to the cart when available stock is zero or below the
requested quantity. The check runs at the exact moment of product selection.
Warehouse-Aware Validation
Respects the source location configured for the POS session's operation type,
ensuring checks are accurate for multi-warehouse setups.
Barcode & Manual Selection
Stock validation fires for both barcode scanning and manual product
search/click — no gaps in coverage.
Hide Out-of-Stock Products
Optionally hide products with zero available stock from the POS product screen
entirely, keeping the product list clean and actionable.
Prevent Zero Price Sales
Optionally block adding products with a list price of zero to the cart,
preventing accidental free giveaways.
Per-Session Toggle
All features are configurable per POS configuration so different terminals or
shops can have different rules.
Configuration
All settings are managed per POS configuration under Point of Sale → Configuration → Settings.
Enforce Stock Availability
Master toggle to enable/disable real-time stock validation at the POS.
Hide Out-of-Stock Products
Remove zero-stock items from the product display screen when stock
enforcement is active.
Prevent Zero Price Sale
Block products with a list price of zero from being added to any order.
