How It Works

Type /flowforge

In any Knowledge article, type "/" and select the BPMN-Diagramm command.

Pick a Diagram

Search, filter by category or state, and select the diagram to embed.

The diagram renders inline with version badge, state, and "Open Editor" link.

  • Odoo 19.0 Enterprise (Knowledge is an Enterprise module)
  • PraetorX FlowForge (Designer)
  • Knowledge module (Odoo Enterprise)

Auto-installs when both FlowForge and Knowledge are present.

  1. Open any Knowledge article
  2. Type / to open the command palette
  3. Select "BPMN-Diagramm"
  4. Search or browse diagrams in the picker dialog
  5. Click a diagram to embed it
  1. Open a FlowForge diagram form view
  2. Click "Dokumentation erstellen"
  3. A Knowledge article is created with:
    • Embedded SVG of the process diagram
    • UserTask documentation with form field tables
    • Name, version, and state information

Overview

FlowForge Knowledge bridges two Odoo modules: FlowForge (BPMN designer) and Knowledge (Odoo's article system). Once installed, users can embed live BPMN diagrams directly in Knowledge articles, auto-generate process documentation, and navigate between articles and the BPMN editor seamlessly.

This module auto-installs when both FlowForge and Knowledge are present.

Slash Command

  • Type / in any Knowledge article to open the command palette
  • Select "BPMN-Diagramm" to open the diagram picker
  • Search and filter by name, category, or state
  • One-click insert — diagram renders inline as SVG

Inline SVG Embedding

  • Live SVG rendering of the BPMN diagram
  • Name badge — shows the diagram name
  • Version badge — displays current version number
  • State badge — Draft, Review, or Approved

Installation

This module has auto_install: True — it installs automatically when both FlowForge and Knowledge are present on the same database.

If not auto-installed:

  1. Go to Apps → Update Apps List
  2. Search for "FlowForge Knowledge"
  3. Click Install

Usage Guide

Embedding a Diagram

  1. Open any Knowledge article
  2. Type / to open the command palette
  3. Select "BPMN-Diagramm"
  4. Use the picker to search or browse diagrams
  5. Click a diagram to embed it
  6. The SVG renders inline with badges and "Open Editor" link

Generating Documentation

  1. Open a FlowForge diagram in the form view
  2. Click "Dokumentation erstellen"
  3. A new Knowledge article is created with:
    • Embedded process diagram (SVG)
    • Table of all UserTask forms and their fields
    • Version and state information
  4. Navigate to Knowledge to view and edit the article

Editing from Knowledge

  1. In a Knowledge article, find the embedded diagram
  2. Click the "Open Editor" button
  3. The fullscreen FlowForge BPMN editor opens
  4. Make changes and save
  5. Return to the Knowledge article — diagram updates on focus
