Two per-product controls to decide exactly which variants and which attribute values are offered for sale — without losing data. Keep your manually archived variants archived even after editing attributes, and hide whole attribute values from the sales Order Grid. Off by default, with zero impact on the rest of your catalog.

Variants Revived On You
In standard Odoo, editing an attribute or value regenerates the variant matrix and reactivates every still-valid variant — including the ones you archived by hand. This module keeps them archived so your catalog reflects exactly the variants you want to sell.
A Cluttered Order Grid
Catalogs with many designs — some obsolete or out-of-season — turn the sales Order Grid into endless columns. Mark a value as Hide from order grid and its whole row or column disappears from the grid, without archiving its variants: their stock and history stay intact and active. Bring it back next season with one click.
Setup & User Manual
Two simple per-product controls
1. Keep manually archived variants
- Turn on Variants in Sales > Configuration > Settings.
- Open a product and add your attributes and values.
- In General Information, tick "Keep manually archived variants".
- Archive the variants you don't want from the product's Variants list.
2. Hide values from the order grid
- Open the product > Attributes tab.
- Click Configure on the attribute line.
- Open the value and tick "Hide from order grid".
- Its row/column leaves the grid; variants stay active. Untick to bring it back.

Common Resolutions
My archived variant came back. Why?
Reason: The product did not have the lock enabled, so standard Odoo reactivated it when the matrix was regenerated.
Fix: Tick "Keep manually archived variants" on the product, then archive it again.
Does it block new variants?
Reason: No. The lock only protects the exact combinations you archived.
Info: New attribute values still create and activate their new combinations normally.
Does hiding a value delete its variants?
Reason: No. "Hide from order grid" only removes the value from the grid.
Info: The variants stay active with their stock and history intact, and the setting survives attribute edits.
Can I still sell a hidden value?
Reason: Yes. Hiding only affects the Order Grid.
Info: The variant can still be sold via the product configurator or by selecting it directly.
