Full audit trail of every gift card operation with request/response data, timestamps, and status tracking.
Auto Setup
The Qboon Gift Card payment method is automatically added to all POS configurations on install. No manual setup needed.
How to Configure
Get up and running in minutes
Navigate to Qboon Settings
Go to Settings and scroll down or search for "Qboon" in the left sidebar. You will see the Qboon Configuration section with three fields to fill in.
Enter Your Qboon API Credentials
Fill in the following fields with the credentials provided by your Qboon account manager:
- Qboon Base URL â The API endpoint URL (default is pre-filled, change only if instructed)
- Qboon API Key â Your secret API key for authenticating requests
- Qboon Team ID â Your organization's team identifier on the Qboon platform
Click Save to apply the configuration.
Payment Method is Auto-Configured
On installation, a "Qboon Gift Card" payment method is automatically created and added to all your POS configurations. No manual setup is required. You can verify this by going to Point of Sale > Configuration > Payment Methods.
Selling a Gift Card
Activate new gift cards through the POS
Select the "Qboon Gift Card" Product
In the POS product screen, find and click the "Qboon Gift Card" product (SKU: QBOON-TC-01). A verification popup will appear automatically.
Verify the Card
Enter the card number and PIN printed on the physical gift card, then click "Verify". The system will validate the card against the Qboon platform and retrieve the card's face value.
Card Added to Order
After successful verification, the gift card is added as an order line with its value as the price. The card number is shown on the line for reference. Complete the sale with any standard payment method (cash, card, etc.). The card is activated on the Qboon platform once the order is paid.
Redeeming a Gift Card as Payment
Let customers pay with their Qboon gift cards
Select "Qboon Gift Card" Payment Method
On the payment screen, click the "Qboon Gift Card" payment method button. The card verification popup will appear.
Verify and Check Balance
Enter the card number and PIN, then click "Verify". The system checks the card and displays the available balance. This is a two-step process â first verify, then enter the amount.
Enter Redeem Amount and Pay
Enter the amount to redeem (up to the available balance) and click "Add Payment". A payment line is created with the specified amount. The remaining order total can be paid with another method if needed. The balance is deducted from the card once the order is validated.
Topping Up a Gift Card
Recharge existing cards with custom amounts
Select the "Qboon Top Up Card" product (SKU: QBOON-TU-01) from the POS product screen. The verification popup appears where you enter the card number and PIN. After verification, the available balance is displayed and you can enter the top-up amount. The card is recharged on the Qboon platform once the order is paid.
Operation Logs & Audit Trail
Full visibility into every gift card transaction
Every gift card operation (sell, redeem, top-up) is logged in the Qboon Operation Log accessible from the backend. Each log entry includes the order reference, card number, operation type, amount, status (success/failed), HTTP status code, and full request/response data for debugging.
Important Notes
Internet Connection Required
All gift card operations require an active internet connection to communicate with the Qboon API. Offline POS mode is not supported for gift card transactions. Ensure your POS terminal has a stable connection.
Duplicate Protection
The plugin prevents the same card from being used twice in the same order â both for selling and redeeming. Each card operation is also protected by a server-side processed flag to avoid duplicate API calls.
Close POS Sessions Before Installing
The module automatically adds the Qboon payment method to all POS configurations during installation. Please close all open POS sessions before installing to avoid configuration conflicts.
Qboon Account Required
You need an active Qboon partner account with API credentials. Contact qboon.net to set up your organization and obtain your API key and Team ID.
