Userwise Create & Edit Restriction
Restrict the quick-create and "Create & Edit..." options in relational dropdowns on a per-user basis. Protect your database from accidental duplicate entries and keep your master data clean.
Key Features
Per-User Settings
Apply restrictions on a per-user basis. Restrict certain users while allowing others to freely create database records.
Restrict All Create & Edit
Check a single master option to globally restrict quick creation and editing options across all Odoo models for the user.
Target Specific Models
Specify exact technical models to restrict (e.g. product.product or res.partner)
instead of applying a blanket global restriction.
Compatibility
- Tested with Odoo 19.0
How It Works & Setup
Configure restrictions in three simple steps inside your standard Odoo user administration settings.
Select Restricted Models
Navigate to **Settings -> Users & Companies -> Users**. Open the user form view and go to the **"Create & Edit Restriction"** tab. You can either check **"Restrict All Create & Edit"** to apply restrictions globally across all models, or specify individual models.

Hides Create Options from Dropdowns
Once saved, if the user opens any Many2One autocomplete field matching the restricted models (or any field at all if the global switch is enabled), the "Create" and "Create & Edit" shortcuts will be automatically blocked and hidden.
