Restrict Fields Export
Control what your users can export â field by field, model by model, user by user.
Odoo 17 Odoo 18 Odoo 19Overview
Restrict Fields Export gives administrators full control over which fields users are allowed to export from any Odoo model. Sensitive data such as product costs, employee salaries, or personal information can be masked in exports without blocking the export action entirely. Restrictions can be applied globally or scoped to specific users, and work seamlessly across direct and relational field paths.

How It Works
Create a Restriction Rule
- Go to Settings > Export Restrictions
- Click Create and select the Model
- Pick the Fields to restrict
- Optionally select specific Users
- Save and activate the rule
User Exports Data
- User performs a standard Odoo export on any model
- The module intercepts the export automatically
- Restricted field values are replaced with N/A
- All other fields export normally
Relational Fields
- Restrictions also apply to related field paths
- Example: product_tmpl_id/standard_price is masked if standard_price is restricted on the Product model
