Required Shipping Method for Sales
Stop physical sales orders being sent or confirmed before the shipping method is chosen, or turn the check off from settings when you do not need it.
What it does
This app adds a simple guardrail to Odoo Sales. If a quote has physical products and no shipping method, Odoo can stop the quote from being sent or stop the sale from being confirmed. You can also disable the check without uninstalling the app.
Service-only orders are ignored, so normal service quotes stay simple.
Choose when it applies
Use the setting that matches your sales flow.
- Require a shipping method when a quote is sent and when a sale is confirmed.
- Require a shipping method only when a sale is confirmed.
- Disable the check while keeping the app installed.
See it in Odoo
A normal Odoo quote with a physical product and no shipping method selected.
If the user confirms too early, Odoo shows a clear warning and names the order.
The Sales settings page lets you choose quote send and confirmation, confirmation only, or disabled.
Simple setup
- Install the app in Odoo 19.0.
- Open Sales settings.
- Find Required Shipping Method.
- Choose when Odoo should require a shipping method, or choose Disabled.
- Save the settings.
What happens after setup
Staff can still build quotes as usual. If they try to send or confirm a physical order without delivery selected, Odoo asks them to add the shipping method first.
Compatibility
- Odoo 19.0 Community and Enterprise.
- Works with Odoo Sales and Delivery.
- No Website, ecommerce, Point of Sale, or Inventory dependency.
