Setup, Usage & Technical Reference
Installation & Target Setup
  1. Install the Module

    Go to Apps → Search "Sales Target Dashboard Pro" → Install. A new Sales Targets menu appears under the Sales app.

    💡
    Auto DependenciesThe module requires sale_management, sale_margin, crm, account, and web. These install automatically if not already present.
  2. Assign Security Groups

    Go to Settings → Users & Companies → Users and edit each user. Under the Sales section assign:

    • Sales User — view-only access to their own dashboard data
    • Sales Manager — full CRUD on targets, all teams, module config
  3. Create a Sales Target

    Go to Sales → Sales Targets → New and fill in:

    Overlapping TargetsYou can create overlapping targets for different scopes — e.g., one for the whole team and separate ones for individual salespersons within that team.
  4. Activate the Target

    Click Activate to make the target live. It immediately appears in the dashboard's Active Targets list and is included in all KPI calculations.

  5. Open the Dashboard

    Go to Sales → Sales Targets → Dashboard. KPI cards and charts load instantly for the current month with your new target included.

How to Use the Dashboard
Period Filtering
  • Click This Month, Last Month, This Quarter, or This Year for instant preset filtering
  • Use the Custom Date Range fields to pick any start and end date
  • All charts and KPI cards update instantly — no page reload
Slicing by Team / Category / Salesperson
  • Use the Sales Team, Category, and Salesperson dropdowns in the filter bar
  • All three filters are combinable — apply any combination simultaneously

Combined Filters ExampleSelect "This Quarter" + a specific Sales Team + a Salesperson to see exactly that person's quarterly performance within their team target.
Comparison Mode

Enable the Comparison Mode toggle on the filter bar. The dashboard adds a second column to each KPI card showing the previous period value alongside green (▲) or red (▼) delta indicators.

Drill-Down into Orders

Click any KPI card (e.g., the Achieved card) or any bar in the bar chart. Odoo opens a filtered Sale Orders list showing exactly the orders behind that number. From there, open individual orders as usual.

Exporting Reports

Click Export to Excel or Print PDF in the dashboard toolbar:

  • Excel — multi-sheet workbook: KPI summary + monthly breakdown + order details
  • PDF — A4 formatted report matching the current filter state

Filter-Aware ExportExports respect all active filters — only data visible on the dashboard at the time of export is included in the output file.

Assigning Roles
  1. Navigate to Users

    Go to Settings → Users & Companies → Users

  2. Edit the User

    Click the user, then under the Access Rights tab find the Sales Target Dashboard section.

  3. Select the Group

    Select Sales Target Dashboard / User for view-only access or Sales Target Dashboard / Manager for full access. Save.

⚠️
ImportantUsers without either group assigned will not see the Sales Targets menu at all. Always assign one of the two groups to every user who should access the dashboard.

Chart.js Offline Setup

Air-Gapped / Offline Environments The module loads Chart.js from Odoo's bundle first, then falls back to CDN. For offline installs: download the Chart.js UMD build and place it at sales_target_dashboard_pro/static/lib/chart.umd.min.js, then add it to web.assets_backend in __manifest__.py.

sale_margin RequiredThe Gross Margin and Margin % KPI cards require the sale_margin module, which is part of Odoo's core sales package. It is automatically installed as a dependency.

Demo Data AvailableThe module ships with demo data (demo/demo.xml) that creates sample sales targets. These are loaded only in Odoo demo databases and do not affect production data.
