Account Activation by Email at Signup
The Account Activation by Email at Signup module enables users to activate their accounts via a verification email sent during the signup process, ensuring secure and seamless account creation.
Note: Make sure to install the required Python dependency by running:
pip install validate_email
To enable the Free Sign Up option for customer accounts, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings â General Settings.
- Under the Permissions section, locate the Customer Account options.
- Select the Free Sign Up radio button.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
- Go to Settings â Technical.
- Under the Parameters section, click on System Parameters.
- Here, you can view, edit, or add new parameters as needed.
- Click on the Create button in the System Parameters page.
- Enter the following details:

auth_signup.allow_uninvited - Value:
True
- Go to the login page of your Odoo instance.
- Click on the Sign Up option.
- Enter a new email address and the required details.
- Click Sign Up to create a new account.
- After clicking Sign Up, if the email is new, a Thank You message will appear confirming the account creation.
- If the email is already registered, an Error message will appear indicating the email is already in use.
- If the sign-up is successful, go to your registered email inbox.
- Open the email you received from Odoo regarding account activation.
- Click on the activation link provided in the email to activate your account.
- Clicking the activation link will open the Odoo login page.
- Enter your registered email address and password.
- Click Log In to access your account.
- You will be successfully logged in to your account.
- On the right side of the interface, you can view your user details.
- You can also edit your personal information from this section.
