1. Set Up Your Doctors
Each doctor gets an auto ID (DOC/0001), a specialization and a consultation fee. That fee flows straight onto the appointment and the bill, so you set the price once. An optional related user links the doctor to an Odoo login, and chatter logs every change.
2. Register The Patient
The patient gets an auto ID (PAT/00001) and the age is computed from the birth date, no manual updates. Record gender, blood group, contact details, emergency contact and known allergies. The two smart buttons on top jump straight to this patient's appointments and prescriptions.
3. Run The Appointment
The status bar walks the visit through Draft, Confirmed, In Consultation and Done. The consultation fee is pulled from the doctor, the chief complaint and diagnosis are captured on the Consultation tab, and once the visit is Done a single Create Bill button turns it into a bill. The Prescriptions smart button and the linked bill are always one click away.
4. Write The Prescription
Create the prescription right from the appointment, so patient and doctor are pre-filled. Add as many medicine lines as needed with dosage, frequency, duration and instructions. The status bar moves the script from Draft to Issued to Dispensed, giving the pharmacy a clear hand-off.
5. Order Lab Tests
Request a test for the patient, move it through Requested, In Progress and Completed, and record the result. The result date is stamped automatically when the test is marked Completed, so the timeline is always accurate.
6. Build The Bill
The bill opens pre-filled with the consultation line from the appointment. Add any extra lines (medicines, lab charges, procedures) and the total updates live. Everything is linked back to the patient, doctor and appointment for a full audit trail.
7. Post A Real Invoice
One click on Create Invoice generates a genuine Odoo customer invoice, with the patient as the customer and every bill line carried over. From here you confirm, post and register payment exactly like any other invoice, so your accounting stays clean and standard.
