Key features
Top-bar reminder bell
A notification bell in the navigation bar shows a live count of upcoming birthdays and work anniversaries for the next 30 days — visible on every page.
Colour-coded urgency
Events are tinted by how soon they are: red today, orange this week, blue this fortnight, so the most pressing ones jump out.
One-click birthday wishes
On someone's birthday, hit "Send Wishes", tweak the pre-written message, and it is posted to their employee chatter and they get notified instantly.
HR announcement board
HR managers post notices (info, good-news, warning or critical) with a start/end date and choose whether they appear in the bell, the dashboard, or both.
Automatic tenure tracking
Each employee gets computed days, months and years of service plus their next work-anniversary date — no manual updates needed.
Respects HR access rights
Only HR users see the data; managers control announcements. Sensitive contract dates are read securely and never exposed to regular staff.

How to use it - 3 easy steps
- Install and you are done. The reminder bell appears in the top bar immediately for every HR user — no configuration required.
- Fill in dates (optional). Open any employee, go to the Work Anniversary tab, and set their Birthday and Work Start Date. Years of service and the next anniversary are calculated automatically. Standard Odoo demo employees already have these.
- Celebrate and announce. Click the bell to see who is coming up, press Send Wishes on a birthday, or open Employee Events > HR Announcements to broadcast a notice to the team.
Installation
- Copy the
snm_employee_events_reminderfolder into your Odoo add-ons path. - Open Apps and click Update Apps List.
- Search for Employee Events Reminder and click Install.
No external libraries or activation keys. Depends only on the standard Employees (hr) and Discuss (mail) apps.
