How the app works, step by step
From install to a fully interactive dashboard — here is the complete workflow.
Install the Module
Go to the Odoo Apps menu, search for the Softprime Dashboard Builder module, and click Activate to install it in your database.
Access Dashboard Builder
Navigate to the Dashboard Builder menu. From the main screen, click + New Dashboard to start designing your first custom dashboard.
Name Your Dashboard
Enter a descriptive name such as "Sales Dashboard", add an optional summary, and hit Create & open to initialize the blank canvas.
Start Adding Widgets
You'll be presented with a clean, empty canvas. Click + Add Widget in the center or on the top toolbar to design your first data visualization.
Choose Widget Type
Select from rich widget types such as Bar, Line, Pie or KPI cards. The live preview updates instantly on the right as you configure data and styles.
Configure Widget Data
Under the Data tab, choose the Odoo model or use a custom SQL query. Set your aggregation and group-by fields to dynamically pull exactly what you need.
Customize the Style
Use the Style tab to visually tweak your widget: custom colors, padding, legend visibility, and chart palettes so it matches your brand perfectly.
Advanced Formatting
In the Advanced tab, format numbers (commas or decimals), set chart titles, and define click actions to open specific list views.
Save Your Widget
Once everything looks good in the live preview, click Save widget. The widget is instantly placed onto your dashboard canvas.
View on Canvas
Your newly created widget is now live on the dashboard. Hover, resize, or move it around the grid as you continue to build out the page.
Apply Dashboard Themes
Switch the entire dashboard's look and feel by selecting a pre-built theme (Light, Dark or Neon) from the top toolbar to match your preferences.
Manage All Dashboards
Use the Configuration menu to manage all your dashboards, set up default themes, or import and export dashboard layouts effortlessly.
