Enable warranty on any product. Check "Has Warranty", set duration in months. Every confirmed sale order line for this product auto-creates a warranty record.
2 Auto-Create Warranty from Sale Order
Confirm the sale order — one warranty created per unit. Smart button on the sale order shows the warranty count. Warranty created email with portal link is sent to the customer automatically.
3 Warranty List — Backend View
Full warranty list for staff. Filter by status, product, customer, or company. Color-coded badges show Active, Claimed, Expired, and Cancelled warranties at a glance.

Manager sees all claims in one list. Red badge flags SLA breaches on open claims past their deadline. Filter by status or SLA breach. Click any claim to review, approve, or reject with full customer context.
8 Claim Approval with Resolution Type
Approve and pick resolution in one step. Repair → repair order created. Replace → return + delivery pickings created. Refund → credit note created. Customer receives an approval or rejection email with resolution notes.
9 Auto-Generated Resolution Document
On approval, the relevant Odoo document is created and linked automatically. Smart button on the claim shows the repair order, return picking, or credit note. No manual document creation needed.

Install Module

Go to Apps → search Warranty Portal Manager → click Install.

All dependencies (sale, stock, repair, account, portal) install automatically. Activate developer mode first if needed (Settings → General → Activate Developer Mode).

Enable Warranty on Products

Open any product → go to the Warranty tab → check Has Warranty → set duration in months.

Tip: Enable Tracking by Serial Number on the product if you want per-unit warranty tracking.

Assign User Roles

Go to Settings → Users → open each staff member → under Warranty, assign:

• Warranty / User — view & create
• Warranty / Manager — full access (approve, reject, cancel)

For multi-company setups, set the user’s Allowed Companies before assigning roles.

Confirm Your First Sale

Create a sale order with a warranty-enabled product → click Confirm.

One warranty is auto-created per unit. The customer receives an email with a magic portal link. View warranties via the smart button on the sale order or under Warranty → Warranties.

Optional: Go to Settings → General Settings → Warranty to configure:
• Require Partner Email — block sale confirmation if customer has no email
• Expiry Reminder Days — set 0 to disable reminders, or any number of days before expiry
