Set a maximum discount % directly on each product under Sales tab → Discount Settings. Any Sales Order exceeding it is blocked at confirmation.

Open any product → Sales tab → Discount Settings. Set the Maximum Discount (%) and Minimum Margin (%). Here, Max Discount = 5% and Min Margin = 10% — the module enforces these on every Sales Order for this product.
🚫 Validation Error When Limit Exceeded
When a salesperson tries to confirm a Sales Order with 6% discount on a product whose maximum is 5%, Odoo immediately shows a Validation Error — clearly stating the product name and the maximum allowed discount. The order cannot be confirmed until corrected.
