2-Factor Authentication
Secure your Odoo login with multi-channel OTP verification via Email and SMS.
Fully compatible with both Community and Enterprise editions of Odoo 19.
This module enhances the security of your Odoo account using Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). After entering your password, users must verify their identity using a One-Time Password (OTP) during login.
The OTP can be delivered through multiple secure channels including Email and SMS, allowing each user to choose the most convenient and reliable method.

Why is it so great?
When you enable 2-factor authentication, you can choose to receive your OTP either on your secondary email or via SMS on your mobile phone. A 6-digit OTP is sent during login, which adds an extra layer of protection to your account.
The SMS feature allows OTP messages to be sent directly to your mobile number. These messages can also be viewed in the system, and for security purposes, the details are kept read-only to prevent any changes.
Basic Configuration
Navigate to the following path to configure Two-Factor Authentication:

Email OTP
If the Email method is selected, the system requires a correctly configured Outgoing Mail Server with valid credentials. If the mail server is not configured or is invalid, OTP delivery via email will not function.
Configuration path: Settings → Technical → Outgoing Mail Servers
SMS OTP
If the SMS method is selected, SMS services must be properly configured with an active provider and sufficient credits. If SMS settings are missing or invalid, OTP delivery via SMS will not function.

Secure Two-Factor Authentication Flow
Step 1 — Access Login Page
Open your Odoo server and navigate to the login page to begin authentication.
Step 2 — Enter Credentials
Enter your username and password to initiate secure login verification.
Step 3 — System Validation
The system validates your credentials and prepares the second authentication layer.
Step 4 — OTP Verification (Email / SMS )
A secure One-Time Password (OTP) is generated and sent instantly via your selected channel.
Users can choose Email, SMS depending on configuration.
Step 5 — OTP Verification Input
Enter the OTP received on your selected channel to complete authentication securely.
Step 6 — Secure Access Granted
Once verified, you are securely logged into your account with full two-factor protection enabled.
