POS Cancel Order with Reason
Stop unexplained POS cancellations. Cashiers must pick a reason from a preset list (or type their own), with a manager bypass and a full audit trail on the cancelled order.
Mandatory Reason
A popup blocks the Cancel Order action until a reason is picked. No more silent voids on the register.
Preset Reason Library
Admin-managed reasons (Due to incomplete payment, Customer Changed Mind, Wrong Item Added, Kitchen Delay...) configured once from the POS menu.
Free-Text "Other"
When none of the preset reasons fit, cashiers can type their own reason inline - so unusual cases never bypass the audit trail.
Manager Bypass
"Allow Cancellation Without Reason" access right lets supervisors skip the popup for special cases - while regular cashiers still go through it.
Backend Audit Trail
Cancel reason saved on the POS order's Extra Info tab plus an automatic chatter message ("order is cancelled due to <reason>").
Zero Workflow Change
Cashiers keep using the existing Cancel Order action. The reason picker just kicks in transparently - no training, no new UI.
Compatibility Notice
This module is tested and certified to work with the vanilla (standard, unmodified) edition of Odoo Community and Enterprise. It depends on the standard Point of Sale module.
If your Point of Sale module or related POS add-ons (such as third-party cancel-order workflows, custom Actions popups or alternate session-close modules) have been modified by another developer, behavior is not guaranteed. Please contact our support team before purchasing if you are running a heavily customized Odoo instance.
