Stock Analytic Distribution
Cost Analytics for Your Inventory Operations
Assign an analytic distribution to transfers, stock moves and scraps. Post it on the valuation journal entry the native Odoo way and analyze your inventory by analytic account.
What We're Solving
----------------
Analytics on Your Stock
Native Odoo does not let you carry an analytic distribution from an inventory operation to its valuation entry. This module fills that gap: the distribution you enter on a transfer, move or scrap is posted on the journal entry and generates the analytic items automatically.
Set Once, Applied Everywhere
A distribution field on the transfer header autocompletes every move, exactly like the source and destination locations. Each move can still keep its own distribution when needed.
Setup & User Manual
Step-by-Step implementation
1. Configuration Guide
Prepare analytics for your inventory in a few steps:
- Enable Analytic Accounting in Accounting settings.
- Make sure the product category uses Automated (real time) valuation.
- Open an Analytic Plan and add an applicability for Stock Move.
- Optionally scope it to an Operation Type and mark it Mandatory.
2. Operating Manual (Workflow)
How the system behaves for the end-user:
Enter on the Transfer
Set the analytic distribution on the transfer header to autocomplete every operation line, or type it directly on a move, a detailed operation or a scrap.
Posted on Validation
When you validate, the distribution lands on the counterpart line of the valuation entry and the analytic items are created and linked automatically.
Analyze It
Filter and group stock moves and detailed operations by Analytic Account straight from their search views.
Native & Safe
The module is strictly additive. If Odoo would not create a valuation entry (for example with periodic valuation), nothing is forced and no entry is created.
Global Ready | Multi-Language Support
This module is fully translated into English and Spanish (en_US, es_ES, es_PE, es_MX), ensuring a professional experience for international organizations.

QA / User Testing Scenarios
Enterprise Validation Plan
Scenario 1: Distribution on the Valuation Entry
- Use a product whose category is valued in real time.
- On a delivery, set an analytic distribution on the move.
- Validate the transfer.
- Result: open the valuation journal entry — the counterpart line carries the distribution and Analytic Items are created.
Scenario 2: Header Autocomplete
- Open a transfer with several product lines.
- Set the analytic distribution on the transfer header.
- Result: every move line is filled with that distribution; you can still change a single line afterwards.
Scenario 3: Mandatory Plan
Mark an analytic plan as Mandatory for the Stock Move domain, then validate a transfer without a distribution.
- Result: validation is blocked with a message naming the product that requires a 100% distribution.
Scenario 4: Operation-Type Scope
- On the applicability, set an Operation Type (e.g. Receipts) and mark it Mandatory.
- Result: receipts require the distribution, while deliveries and other operation types are not blocked.
Scenario 5: Reporting
- Go to Inventory > Reporting > Moves (or the operations list).
- Use the Analytic Account filter and the matching group-by.
- Result: moves are filtered and grouped by analytic account without errors.
FAQ & Troubleshooting
Common Resolutions
The distribution is empty on my entry?
Reason: only products valued in real time post a valuation entry.
Fix: set the product category valuation to Automated (real time). With periodic valuation no entry is created, by native design.
Where do I see the analytics?
Answer: in two places.
Detail: on the counterpart line of the valuation journal entry, and as Analytic Items under Accounting reporting.
Can a move differ from the header?
Answer: yes.
Detail: the header only autocompletes the lines, like the locations. Each move can hold its own distribution.
Is this compatible with Multi-company?
Answer: Yes!
Detail: valuation accounts and journals are resolved per company, so each company keeps its own configuration.
