1. Installation & Configuration
This module is designed for "Passive Logic" operation, meaning it calculates data without intervening in your critical stock flows.

Step 1: Install the Module
Analyze your Odoo Apps list, search for "Stock Picking Extras", and click "Activate". No dependencies other than the base Stock module are required. -
Step 2:
Verification
Once installed, the computed fieldTotal Bundlesis automatically added to thestock.pickingmodel (alongside the nativePackagescount). No menu activation or settings configuration is needed. -
Step 3:
Security & Permissions
The fields are read-only for all users to ensure data integrity. Access follows standard Odoo Stock User/Manager groups.
2. Operating Manual (Workflow)
Follow this workflow to utilize the logistics counters effectively:
1 Create Transfer
Navigate to Inventory > Operations > Transfers. Create a new Receipt, Delivery, or Internal Transfer as usual.
2 Register Operations
Add your products.
• Packed: Assign a "Destination Package" to group items
(Counts as 1 Bundle).
• Loose: Leave "Destination Package" empty (Counts as 1
Bundle per Unit).
3 Save to Compute
Click the standard Odoo Save (Cloud Icon) button. The system instantly processes the lines and updates the counters.
4 View Results
Check the Additional Info tab for the "Logistics Counts" group or enable the columns in the List View.

Scenario 1: Verify Package Count
- Create a Delivery or Receipt.
- Add 3 lines. Put Line 1 and Line 2 into "Package A". Put Line 3 into "Package B".
- Result: Go to the "Additional Info" tab. "Packages" (native field) should be 2.
Scenario 2: Verify Bundles Count (Mixed)
- Use the same transfer from Scenario 1.
- Add a 4th line with Quantity = 5. Do NOT assign a package.
- Result: "Total Bundles" should be 7. (2 Packages + 5 Loose Units).
Scenario 3: Same Product, Multiple Packages
- Add 10 Units of "Product X".
- Assign 5 units to "Package C" and 5 units to "Package D".
- Result: Packages count increases by 2. Total Bundles increases by 2 (5 units in Pack C = 1 Bundle, 5 in Pack D = 1 Bundle).
Scenario 4: Multi-Product Package
- Add "Product Y" (2 units) and "Product Z" (3 units).
- Assign BOTH lines to the SAME "Package E".
- Result: Packages count increases by 1. Total Bundles increases by 1. (Consolidation logic).
Scenario 5: Returns & Backorders
- Validate a Partial Delivery (creating a backorder).
- Open the newly created Backorder.
- Result: The "Logistics Counts" should correctly reflect only the items/packages remaining in the backorder.
FAQ & Troubleshooting
Common Resolutions
Calculations are wrong?
Reason: The stock move lines might not be saved yet.
Fix: Save the picking record to trigger the computation manually if needed.
Is this compatible with Multi-company?
Answer: Yes!
Detail: Calculations respect company separation and standard Odoo security rules.
Can I use it with the Barcode App?
Answer: Absolutely.
Detail: As you scan items and put them in packages in the Barcode App, these fields will update automatically when the transfer is updated.
Can I manually edit the counts?
Answer: No.
Detail: To guarantee data integrity and prevent operator errors, these fields are calculated strictly based on the actual operations. You cannot "fake" the numbers.
