Barcode Scan on Purchase Orders
Scan a product barcode straight onto an RFQ and the line is added at its supplier price — description, taxes and unit of measure computed by Odoo exactly as if you had typed it by hand.
Scan, Don't Type
A scan bar sits right on the RFQ form. Point a scanner at a product and it lands on the order — no product search, no dropdown, no separate screen to learn.
Your Vendor's Price
The line is created through Odoo's own logic, so the price comes from the product's supplier info — along with the description, taxes, UoM and expected arrival date.
Rescan to Order More
Scanning a product that is already on the RFQ bumps its quantity instead of creating a second line, so restocking five of something is just five scans.
One Scan, One Order Line
The scan bar sits above the RFQ and keeps the cursor to itself, so a USB or Bluetooth scanner just works — one scan after another, hands never leaving the goods. Every accepted scan flashes the product and its running quantity in green, and the unit price fills in from the vendor's own supplier info rather than anything this module invents.
Scan It Twice, The Quantity Goes Up
Scan the same product again and the existing line's quantity simply increases — no duplicate line to merge later, no arithmetic in your head. Work down an empty shelf or a supplier's catalogue one item at a time and the RFQ keeps up, exactly reflecting what you actually mean to order.
A Bad Scan Says So
Scan something that isn't in the catalogue and the bar turns red and names the code it could not match — nothing is silently added and nothing is silently dropped. The scan resolves against the product barcode first and then the internal reference, so both the label on the carton and the code in your system work.
Everything In The Box
Right on the standard purchase order form, above the sheet. No new menu, no new screen, nothing to train.
Created through Odoo's own logic — supplier price, description, taxes, UoM and expected arrival all computed natively.
The same product scanned twice bumps the quantity on the existing line instead of duplicating it.
Resolves against the product barcode first, then the internal reference — whichever your labels carry.
The bar keeps focus between scans, so any USB or Bluetooth scanner works without clicking back into the field.
The bar only shows on draft RFQs, and the rule is enforced server-side — a confirmed purchase order can never be changed by a stray scan.
Start scanning on a brand-new RFQ and it is saved for you first, so the line always lands on a real order.
A clean layer on standard purchase. Native buttons, wizards and validations keep working exactly as they do today.
