POS Weekday Discount
Automatically apply product discounts on specific days of the week in Odoo Point of Sale
In standard Odoo POS, promotions can be configured with conditional rules and rewards — but there is no native way to restrict a discount to specific days of the week. Businesses that run weekday-specific offers such as "$20 Off on Fridays" or "Monday Flash Sale" have no built-in option to automate this — cashiers must manually apply discounts, which leads to errors and inconsistency.
POS Weekday Discount solves this by adding a Weekday Restriction section inside the Conditional Rules of a Discount & Loyalty promotion. A Restrict to Weekdays toggle and a day selector (S M T W T F S) allow you to choose exactly which days of the week the promotion should apply — Monday, Friday, or any combination of days.
The setup is done entirely from the existing Odoo POS Discount & Loyalty program — go to Settings → Point of Sale → Pricing, enable Promotions, Coupons, Gift Card & Loyalty Program, and click Discount & Loyalty. Create a new promotion, set your Conditional Rules with specific products and weekday restrictions, and configure the Reward as a Discount on Specific Products.
When a cashier opens the POS Register and adds the qualifying product on a matching weekday, the discount is automatically applied to the order lines — no manual input needed. The discounted amount is deducted from the total and shown clearly on the receipt.
This module is ideal for retail stores, restaurants, cafes, and any POS business that runs day-specific promotions and needs them applied automatically without cashier intervention.
Weekday Restriction
A new Weekday Restriction section in Conditional Rules lets you restrict any promotion to specific days of the week.
Day Selector Toggle
Enable the Restrict to Weekdays toggle and select one or multiple days — S M T W T F S — directly on the conditional rule form.
Auto-Applied Discount
When conditions are met on the matching day, the discount is applied automatically to the POS order lines — no cashier input needed.
Product-Specific Discount
Set the discount on specific products only — for example $20 off on Large Cabinet every Friday — with full product targeting support.
Works with Existing Promotions
Built on top of Odoo's native Discount & Loyalty program — no separate setup needed, just add weekday restriction to existing promotions.
Discount on Receipt
The applied discount lines are clearly shown on the POS receipt — customers see the exact discount deducted per product and the final total.

Enable Promotions in POS Settings
Go to Settings → Point of Sale → Pricing. Enable Promotions, Coupons, Gift Card & Loyalty Program by toggling it on. Then click Discount & Loyalty to open the promotion list where you will create your weekday discount promotion.

Set Conditional Rule with Weekday Restriction
Create a new promotion — for example "20$ Off On Friday" with Program Type: Promotions. Under Conditional Rules, add a rule and select a specific product (e.g. [E-COM07] Large Cabinet). Enable the Restrict to Weekdays toggle in the new Weekday Restriction section and select the days you want — you can select multiple days such as Monday and Friday.

Configure Reward — Discount on Specific Products
Under Rewards, click Open: Rewards. Set Reward Type: Discount, enter the discount amount (e.g. $20.00), select Specific Products, and add the discounted product (e.g. [E-COM07] Large Cabinet). The description on order shows "$20 on Large Cabinet". Click Save & Close.

Save the Promotion Program
Once you have configured both the Conditional Rules (with weekday restriction and product) and the Rewards (discount on specific products), click the Save button (cloud icon) at the top. The promotion "20$ Off On Friday" is now active — available on Point of Sale: My Company with the rules showing minimum spend conditions and the reward of 20.00$ discount applied to Large Cabinet.

Open POS Register and Select Discounted Product
Open your POS Register. Browse the product list and select the product configured for the discount — in this case Large Cabinet. If today is one of the selected weekdays (e.g. Friday or Monday), the discount will be automatically applied as soon as the product is added to the order — no manual action required from the cashier.

The POS order shows 2 Large Cabinet — $736.00 and two discount lines: $20 on Large Cabinet — -$20.00 per unit. The total after discount is $696.00 (taxes $90.78 included). Click Payment and validate to complete the transaction with the discounted price.

Payment Successful — Discount on Receipt
Payment of $696.00 is completed successfully. The receipt clearly shows 2 Large Cabinet — $736.00, followed by two discount lines: $20 on Large Cabinet — -$20.00 each. Subtotal is $605.22, Tax 15% is $90.78, and the final Total: $696.00 is shown — reflecting the full weekday discount applied automatically.
