Stop duplicate contacts before they enter your database. Odoo's built-in merge wizard only cleans up duplicates after your data is already messy. This module checks every new or edited contact in real time and blocks the save when a match is found â so your CRM, sales, and invoicing data stay clean from day one.
Smarter than exact-match checks
- Email: case-insensitive normalized matching â exact, never a wildcard
- Phone: E.164 international formatting, so
876-555-0123and+1 876 555 0123collide - Phone fallback: catches the same number typed twice with no area code
- Name: configurable fuzzy similarity warning
- Detects duplicates of archived contacts too

Three modes â pick what fits
- Email Only â block on a duplicate email address.
- Email + Phone â block on a duplicate email or phone number.

Privacy-aware
On shared databases, you can hide the matched contact's details in the block message â so users cannot harvest other contacts' name, email, or phone simply by probing for duplicates. The check still works; it just reports that a match exists without disclosing whose.
