Contact Merge Customization
Standalone dashboard to detect and merge duplicate contacts based on email, phone, zipcode, etc. Optimized for performance with hierarchical review and full rollback support.
Features
1) Install the Module
Go to the Odoo Apps menu and
install the module.
2) Navigate to Contacts > Contact Merge to access settings.
3) Create a new Merge Configuration and select the fields you want to match (e.g., Complete Name, Email, Phone).
4) Open the Contact Merge Dashboard. It will be empty until you select criteria.
5) Select your preferred Merge Criteria from the dropdown menu.
6) Click Detect Duplicates to find matching groups. You can then batch merge safe groups or merge groups one by one.
7) Track your progress using the Stat Buttons (Total Groups, Pending, Merged) at the top.
8) View detailed Duplicate Groups and click the Merge button for manual review.
9) Review Group Info and Impact Preview (Sales, Invoices, Pickings) before confirming the merge.
10) If you need to revert a merge, go to Contacts > Contact Merge > Merge History and click Rollback.
11) When clicking on 'Merge Next 50' the first 50 groups will be merged on the basis of the Merge criteria automatically. Make sure the number of duplicate records are under 10 or else we need to merge them manually.
12) When clicking on 'Merge all safe groups' all the groups will be merged on the basis of the Merge criteria automatically. Make sure the number of duplicate records are under 10 or else we need to merge them manually.
The module is highly optimized using Odoo's read_group method and PostgreSQL indexes, making it capable of handling 60,000+ contacts with ease.
Yes, every merge operation creates a snapshot in the Merge History. You can use the rollback mechanism to Revert any merge if needed.
Absolutely. You can define merge rules based on any field in the res.partner model, including standard fields like Name, Email, Phone, and Zipcode.
