POS Home Delivery
Enable home delivery for Point of Sale orders. Easily configure delivery addresses, schedule deliveries, assign delivery persons, add notes and instructions, track delivery status in the backend, and print delivery details on receipts.
Features
1) Install the Module
Go to the Odoo Apps menu, search for
"wb_pos_homedelivery" or "POS Home Delivery", and install the
POS Home Delivery module.
2) Configure POS Home Delivery Settings
Go to Point of Sale > Configuration > Settings, enable the
POS Home Delivery and Home Delivery
Charges options, and assign the default Delivery
Persons.
3) After enabling the configurations, a Delivery Charge service product will be created automatically. If not, you can create it manually from the Inventory > Products menu, and configure its Sales Price, Point of Sale, and Sales category settings.
4) Dedicated Home Delivery Button in POS Screen
Open a POS session. When items are added to the cart, a dedicated
Home Delivery button with a delivery truck icon is
visible in the bottom-left of the action pad.
5) Fill Delivery Information Popup
Click the Home Delivery button to open the
configuration dialog. Enter the Customer details, check Ship to
Different Address if applicable, fill in the address
fields, assign a Delivery Person, set the Scheduled Delivery date/time,
and add Order Notes or Delivery Instructions.
6) If Outgoing Mail server has been configured, then the Customer will
also receive an email notification for order confirmation with all the
details. Delivery Charge and Notes Applied to Cart
After clicking save, the Delivery Charge product line
is automatically added to the POS cart, and your Order Note will appear
at the bottom of the shopping cart.
7) Print Delivery Details on Receipt
After payment is validated, the printed receipt will include the
Delivery Charge line item and a dedicated Home
Delivery section listing the reference ID, Customer name,
and Delivery Address.
An Invoice about the payment will be sent to the customer via email if
the outgoing mail server has been configured.
8) Track Deliveries in the Backend
Navigate to Point of Sale > Orders > Home Deliveries in the Odoo
backend to monitor the status of deliveries. The dashboard lists all
orders with their statuses (Draft, Confirmed, Out for Delivery,
Delivered) and assigned delivery staff.
9) Automated Invoices and Payments
Go to Invoicing > Customers > Invoices. Invoices are automatically
generated and paid with the exact delivery charges included, matching
the POS transaction.
