Hide Product Name on Quotes & Invoices
Show the line description to your customer, not the product name. On quotes, sales orders and invoices. The way Odoo 17 did it.
Plenty of service businesses sell through internal or client-named products: an hourly rate, a retainer, a placeholder item. The product is there for your books, and the line description is what the customer should read. Odoo 19 turned that around and put the product name on the order line, the quote and invoice PDF, the customer portal and the tasks an order creates. This module puts the description back in charge and, importantly, does it the same way on the order and on the invoice so the two always match.
Clean quotes and invoices
The quotation and sales order PDF, the invoice and credit note PDF, and the customer portal all show only the description. A leftover product-name line from a standard Odoo 19 record is dropped when the document renders, so older orders and invoices read correctly too, with no change to stored data. Vendor bills are left alone.
A real description column
Edit the description directly on the order line and the invoice line, including after the order is confirmed or the invoice is posted, where Odoo 19's merged cell stops letting you. New lines fill in from the product's sales description, not its name, and editing the text no longer sticks the product name back on.
Task names that make sense
Tasks created from a confirmed order are named after the first line of the description again, for example "S1234 Kitchen island drawings", with the rest of the text as the task body. Sale line references on tasks and timesheets follow the same rule.
