Connect a WhatsApp number to Odoo without taking it off the phone
Your team keeps replying from the WhatsApp Business app on their phone, and Odoo sees everything: incoming messages and the replies typed on the phone, right inside Discuss. It is an extension of Odoo's native whatsapp module: same conversations, same templates, one extra connection type.

Setup requirement / Meta Tech Provider
Coexistence runs on a Meta Tech Provider app (Cloud API access
with coexistence permissions). Don't have one?
RC Studio can provide it and set it up for you for an
additional fee.

Cloud API forces a choice. Coexistence doesn't.
The native connector uses the dedicated Cloud API: to link the number to Odoo, it stops working on the phone. With Coexistence the same number lives in the phone app and the API at the same time.

Native connection
Dedicated Cloud API
Full control of the outgoing message.
The number leaves the phone app.
The team loses its usual way to reply.
Migration with SMS verification.

Coexistence
The number stays on the phone.
Odoo receives inbound and phone echoes.
Sign-up by QR, in seconds.
Everything lands in Discuss, like the native.
|
One button on your WhatsApp account
Pick Coexistence as the connection type and hit Connect via Coexistence. The owner scans a QR from the WhatsApp Business app: no SMS, no new number. Phone Number ID, Account ID and Token are filled automatically.
From QR to Discuss in 4 steps
|
Step 1
Pick "Coexistence"
Your WhatsApp account gets a connection-type selector and a Connect button.
|
Step 2
Scan the QR
Meta's Embedded Signup opens; the owner scans the QR from the app. No SMS.
|
|
Step 3
Odoo wires it up
It exchanges the token and subscribes a webhook override to your Odoo. Callback and verify token, automatic.
|
Step 4
Chat in Discuss
Inbound and phone-typed messages show up in the WhatsApp channel. Reply from Odoo or the phone.
|
Phone replies appear in Discuss
When someone on the team answers from the phone, Coexistence mirrors that message into the same Discuss channel as an outbound message, deduplicated by message id, so nothing shows twice.
What's inside
QR onboarding Embedded Signup inside Odoo: the number connects by scanning, not by typing IDs. |
Own webhooks per WABA Callback override per number, so events reach your Odoo without touching the app's other integrations. |
Phone echoes in Discuss What the team types on the phone shows up as an outbound message, with dedupe. |
Zero callback config The account generates its own Callback URL and Verify Token. You type neither. |
Many numbers, one app Tech Provider model: onboard many businesses with the same Meta app. |
Integrates, doesn't replace Built on whatsapp.account. Templates, sending and Discuss are the native module's. |
| Honest about the Coexistence limit: messages typed on the phone go out "raw" (they can't be rewritten before sending); the API receives them afterwards as echoes. If you must intercept 100% of outgoing traffic, use the dedicated Cloud API instead. |
