WhatsApp Custom API Endpoint
By default, Odoo's WhatsApp module can only talk to Meta at
https://graph.facebook.com. This module adds an
API Endpoint field to each WhatsApp Business Account, so you can
point Odoo at any WhatsApp Cloud API-compatible provider â such as
your own gateway â while keeping the exact same workflow.
ð Your own endpoint
Set the Graph API base URL per account, e.g.
https://your-provider.com/v23.0. Use an alternative provider instead of Meta.
ð¢ Per-account
Each WhatsApp Business Account chooses its own endpoint. Mix official Meta accounts and custom providers in the same database.
ð¡ï¸ Upgrade-safe
No changes to the core whatsapp addon.
A clean override that survives Odoo upgrades.
â»ï¸ Zero workflow change
Sending, templates, media and webhooks keep working exactly as before â only the destination URL changes.
How it works
- Adds an API Endpoint field to
whatsapp.account(defaults to the Meta URL). - Requests to the WhatsApp Cloud API are routed to that endpoint instead of the hardcoded default.
- Absolute URLs (paging, media downloads) are left untouched â everything else just works.
Setup in 3 steps
- Install the module and restart Odoo.
- Open WhatsApp › Configuration › WhatsApp Business Accounts.
- Set API Endpoint to your provider's Graph URL, then click Test Connection.
Compatible with Odoo 19.0 (Enterprise WhatsApp module). Requires the whatsapp app.
