How to Use â Step by Step
A complete guide to running a project in Odoo.
Install the Module
Go to Apps, search WT Construction & Material Management and Install. Project, HR and Accounting install automatically and a Construction menu appears.
Assign User Roles
Under Settings → Users give each user a Construction role â Site Engineer, Project Manager or Administrator.
Configure the Basics
Under Construction → Configuration review the ready-made work types, labour types and expense categories. Add your materials under Materials → Materials.
Create a Construction Project
Go to Construction → Projects and create a project. On the Construction tab set the project code, client, contract value and site address.
Add Phases & the BoQ
On the project's Phases tab add stages with planned dates. On the Bill of Quantities tab enter work items with quantity and rate â the total sets the budget.
Raise Material Requisitions
Under Materials → Material Requisitions request materials for a project, Submit, Approve and Issue them to site.
Log Labour & Assign Equipment
Under Resources record daily labour deployment by trade and register equipment, assigning machinery to projects.
Award Subcontracts
Under Resources → Subcontracts award scopes of work to subcontractors with a contract value and track billing, retention and balance.
Record Site Expenses
Under Site Expenses log transport, utilities, permits and safety costs. Submit, approve and optionally raise a vendor bill.
Monitor Cost & Margin
Open Construction → Dashboard for live budget vs actual, margin and a cost breakdown. Print the BoQ and Progress reports any time.
