Labour Cost Quote
Explore this module
Overview
Designed for construction companies and contractors, the
Labour Cost Quote module simplifies how you calculate
and manage labor costs for all your projects.
It allows you to build custom labor cost templates, where costs can be defined based on
parameters such as project area or the number of rooms.
These calculated costs automatically appear in your sales quotations. Once the quotation
is confirmed, the module stores these calculated costs directly within the sales order,
making tracking and cost management significantly easier.
Ultimately, this tool refines the entire labor cost estimation and management process,
improving accuracy while saving valuable time.
Additionally, it integrates seamlessly with your project management system. You can
select a project template within the labor cost quote, and once the quote is approved, a
new project is automatically created and linked to the sale.
This ensures that project tasks, progress, and labor cost estimates remain perfectly
aligned with your sales orders.

- GETTING STARTED WITH THE MODULE
Once you've installed the module, you'll see a new view page with 'Quotation' and 'Configuration' menus. Under 'Configuration,' you'll find 'Labour Cost' and 'Cost Template' to start building things. Let's kick off by creating your first labour cost item!
- CREATING A NEW COST ITEM
Just tap 'New' to set up a brand new product item that represents a labour cost.
- DEFINING YOUR LABOUR ITEM
When you start typing in the 'Product' field, you'll see a list of products you've already created. If what you need isn't there, no worries – you can create a new one right then and there.
- PRODUCT DETAILS
Give your product a name, check the 'Is Quote Product' box, make sure 'Services' is selected, and then hit save. Easy peasy!
- YOUR PRODUCT ITEM IS READY!
After you've picked your product and put in the 'Cost per Sq. ft.', you'll see the product name and all its details neatly displayed.
- SETTING UP A COST TEMPLATE
All your product items are now ready to be added to templates. To create a new Cost Template, head over to the 'Cost Template' menu under 'Configuration' and click 'New'.
- BUILDING YOUR COMPLETE COST TEMPLATE
This is where you bring it all together! Add the 'Total Area,' 'Total Rooms,' and pick your product items. Don't forget to select a 'Project Template' if you want to link it to projects. And for the template to work its magic, make sure to check the "Active" box. Once you've added your sections and product items, it'll look something like this:
- STARTING A NEW SALES QUOTATION
Time to create a new quote! Just go to the "Quotation" menu and click "New."
- FILLING IN QUOTATION DETAILS
Pop in your customer's details and then tap the "Quote" button to move forward.

- ADDING & REMOVING ITEMS FROM YOUR QUOTE
Here’s an example: Let’s say you want to remove the 'hall' and 'kitchen' items from your quote. Here is the original quote:
And this is the quote after removing the items:
- YOUR UPDATED QUOTE DETAILS
Once you've made those changes, the sales order will instantly show the updated quote details
[Note: Only the sale orders which are not confirmed will show the updated quote details.]
Project Configuration :
- APPLYING DIFFERENT STAGES
After you've got your project all set up – naming it, defining stages for tasks, and creating individual tasks with all their details like who's assigned, descriptions, deadlines, and how they relate to parent tasks – the next big step is actually moving those tasks through their stages. This clear, visual tracking helps you keep a close eye on task status and how your project is progressing.
Below, you'll see tasks moving through various stages, reflecting their current status in action.
- CONVERSION TO PROJECT TEMPLATE
Go to settings and tap on "Convert to Template" and your project will be converted into a template.
- VIEW PROJECT TEMPLATES
Click on "Templates" filter to view all project templates.
- LINKING TO YOUR LABOUR QUOTE TEMPLATE
Now, let's tie your project template into the labour quote template. This makes sure that when you create quotes, projects can seamlessly spin up from them!
- SEEING PROJECT TEMPLATES IN YOUR QUOTES
When you choose a Labour Quote Template, you'll clearly see the associated project template displayed right there within your quotation.
- CONFIRMING THE SALE & KICKING OFF THE PROJECT
Once you confirm the quotation, not only is the sales order created, but a new project also gets automatically generated! You'll then see a button that takes you straight to the project and its tasks.
- CONGRATS! YOUR NEW PROJECT IS READY
Boom! A new project for your sales order has been successfully created, mirroring the template you chose.
- ALL YOUR PROJECT DETAILS
Open any task, and you'll see the new project's name, the customer's name, and a handy button at the top to jump directly back to the sales order.
