x2_split_list: Split List Feature Guide
Split List enables a split-screen experience in Odoo List view, with records on the left and the native Form view on the right.

Split List is an enhanced interaction mode based on Odoo’s native List/Form workflow. After enabling Split List in the top-right area of the List view, the page switches to a two-panel layout: a record list on the left and record details on the right.
The right panel uses the original Odoo Form view logic, preserving native capabilities such as form fields, notebooks, one2many relations, chatter, status bars, and action buttons.
Enable & Disable
In the List view control panel, the Split List checkbox appears on the right side. Check it to enable split view, or uncheck it to return to the standard Odoo List view.
- The Split List toggle is only displayed in List/Tree views.
- It is hidden on small screens and mobile devices to avoid layout issues.
- When Split List is disabled, the right-side detail panel is cleared to prevent confusion when it is enabled again.
Split Layout
Left List
Keeps native List features such as pagination, sorting, filtering, field rendering, and horizontal scrolling.
Resizable Panels
Drag the divider to adjust the width of each side. The selected ratio is saved automatically.
Right Form
After selecting a record on the left, the native Form view of that record is displayed on the right.
Record Viewing
When Split List is enabled, clicking any record in the left List immediately displays its details in the right Form panel. The default empty-state message is:
Click a record on the left to view its details on the right.
The selected record remains highlighted in the left panel. When navigating records from the Form view, the selected row on the left is updated accordingly.
Theme Compatibility
Split List follows Odoo theme variables for backgrounds, borders, selected rows, and scrollbars, supporting both light mode and dark mode.
- The right Form panel background follows the current Odoo theme.
- Selected states, borders, and divider colors use theme-aware variables.
