How XiotBox Changes Your Printing Architecture
The Odoo Apps package contains the business module source. Desktop compatibility behavior, public response formatting and the SocketD state machine live in the separately delivered Runtime. The standard Runtime build embeds SocketD in the same service; standalone SocketD is reserved for supported advanced layouts.
Important: the Apps module never downloads, installs or launches an executable. Runtime, SocketD and patch artifacts are delivered separately through the authenticated XiotBox customer portal after purchase.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a PrintNode cloud account?
No for a fresh self-hosted setup. The wizard creates a local account bridge. Existing users can retain their former endpoint and API key for rollback.
Which Direct Print product is supported?
Odoo Direct Print PRO (by VentorTech), technical module name printnode_base. It must be licensed separately and is not bundled. Other Odoo products with similar names use different integrations and are outside current compatibility scope.
Why not continue using PrintNode?
PrintNode remains a good managed service option. XiotBox provides a self-hosted alternative for organizations requiring private deployment, infrastructure control and predictable long-term cost.
Where do I download Runtime, SocketD and the patch?
After an online purchase or private-sale entitlement is linked to your XiotBox portal account, published artifacts appear under Customer Downloads. Each release can include notes and a SHA-256 checksum.
Can I migrate a live database safely?
The workflow preserves the former endpoint and API key and maps devices in place. You should still use a database backup, test a representative printer, and complete your own acceptance cycle before cancelling former service.
Is this an official Odoo, VentorTech or PrintNode product?
No. XiotBox is an independently implemented compatibility product by OnGood and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Odoo, VentorTech, or PrintNode. Third-party names are referenced only to describe interoperability.
