Supported Devices

The system supports ZKTeco biometric devices using TCP/IP communication. Devices can be connected through a local network or public IP address, with configurable communication ports such as 4370, 4371, 4372, or any port configured on the device.

Branch-Aware Access Control

Shift-Aware Attendance Processing

Installation

  1. Copy the installer module to your Odoo addons directory
  2. Restart the Odoo service
  3. Enable Developer Mode
  4. Go to Apps → Update Apps List

2. Biometric Device Management

Manage an unlimited number of biometric devices from a single Odoo interface. Devices can be connected using local network IPs or public IP addresses for remote branches, with fully configurable communication ports.

3. Device Setup & Configuration

Configure every biometric device and perform device operations directly from Odoo. Administrators can synchronize employees, download attendance logs, test device connectivity, restart the device, and manage device logs without physical access to the device.

Configuration Fields
  • Name: identifies the biometric device inside Odoo
  • Device IP: supports both public IP and local network IP addresses
  • Port Number: communication port used to connect with the device
  • Working Address: links the device to a specific branch or location
  • Download From / Download To: defines the attendance synchronization date range

  • Set Time: synchronizes the biometric device time with the Odoo server
  • Sync Employees: imports and updates employees from the biometric device into Odoo
  • Download Data: downloads attendance transactions and prepares them for reporting
  • Clear Odoo Logs: removes imported logs from Odoo only
  • Clear Device Logs: clears attendance logs from the biometric device
  • Clear Both: clears logs from both Odoo and the biometric device

4. Biometric Log

The biometric log keeps synchronized employee and biometric reference information used by the attendance engine. It helps match attendance transactions with the correct employee and provides a reliable reference for reporting and synchronization.

5. Employee Configuration - Daily Working Time

The employee profile includes dedicated daily working time settings. HR can define each employee's Work Start and Work End time directly from the employee form. All attendance reports automatically depend on these values, making late arrival, early leave, missing punch, total worked time, and attendance summary calculations accurate for each employee's schedule.

6. User Settings - HR Admin and Branch User Permissions

The user settings screen controls biometric attendance permissions for each Odoo user. The system supports two main security levels: HR Admin users with full access across all branches, and Region HR / Branch Users with limited access based on their assigned working address and biometric device permissions.

  • Region HR / Branch User: access only to employees and attendance records linked to assigned working address or device(s)
  • Support for assigning one device or multiple devices to the same HR user

This permission structure allows companies to manage multiple branches in one Odoo database while keeping employee data secure and separated by location.

7. Vacation Management

The system includes a fully integrated Vacation Management module, allowing HR departments to manage employee leave directly from the employee profile. Vacation balances, leave history, and vacation types are maintained within the same system, providing complete visibility of employee attendance and leave records from one centralized platform.
