MuK Documents

Document Management System

MuK IT GmbH - www.mukit.at

Overview

MuK Documents is a module to create, manage and view files directly within Odoo. In addition to views for files and folders, it offers its own all in one view to make working with documents easier. This module is only the basis for an entire ecosystem of apps that extend and seamlessly integrate with the document management system.

Key Features

All in One Documents View

All in one view to easily manage all your documents. Provides a context menu and a preview to speed up your work. The view allows to move existing files and folders as well as to create new ones. Furthermore, files can be previewed directly in the view.

Drag and Drop Support

The All-in-One view supports drag and drop. Both individual files and entire folder structures can be inserted directly into the view. This makes it easy to transfer existing structures on your system to document management systems.

Folder View (Kanban/List/Form)

The standard Odoo views, Kanban, List and Form are implemented for the folders. The Kanban View can be used to directly display the subfolders or files of a particular folder.

File View (Kanban/List/Form)

For files the standard Odoo views, Kanban, List and Form are implemented. The Kanban View can be used to display files directly in the preview dialog.

Document Settings

There is the possibility to create own settings for different folder structure cures. This gives you the option of adapting the structure even further to your requirements. For example, you can switch off file locking for a structure to increase the speed.

Documents Extension

This module is just the basis for a complete ecosystem of applications that can expand and seamlessly integrate into the document management system. You can download the extensions in the store.

MuK Document Management System

MuK Documents is a module to create, manage and view files directly within Odoo. In addition to views for files and folders, it offers its own all in one view to make working with documents easier. This module is only the basis for an entire ecosystem of apps that extend and seamlessly integrate with the document management system.

Installation

To install this module, you need to:

Download the module and add it to your Odoo addons folder. Afterward, log on to your Odoo server and go to the Apps menu. Trigger the debug mode and update the list by clicking on the "Update Apps List" link. Now install the module by clicking on the install button.

Another way to install this module is via the package management for Python (PyPI).

To install our modules using the package manager make sure odoo-autodiscover is installed correctly. Then open a console and install the module by entering the following command:

pip install --extra-index-url https://nexus.mukit.at/repository/odoo/simple <module>

The module name consists of the Odoo version and the module name, where underscores are replaced by a dash.

Module:

odoo<version>-addon-<module_name>

Example:

sudo -H pip3 install --extra-index-url https://nexus.mukit.at/repository/odoo/simple odoo11-addon-muk-utils

Once the installation has been successfully completed, the app is already in the correct folder. Log on to your Odoo server and go to the Apps menu. Trigger the debug mode and update the list by clicking on the "Update Apps List" link. Now install the module by clicking on the install button.

The biggest advantage of this variant is that you can now also update the app using the "pip" command. To do this, enter the following command in your console:

pip install --upgrade --extra-index-url https://nexus.mukit.at/repository/odoo/simple <module>

When the process is finished, restart your server and update the application in Odoo. The steps are the same as for the installation only the button has changed from "Install" to "Upgrade".

You can also view available Apps directly in our repository and find a more detailed installation guide on our website.

For modules licensed under OPL-1, you will receive access data when you purchase the module. If the modules were not purchased directly from MuK IT please contact our support (support@mukit.at) with a confirmation of purchase to receive the corresponding access data.

Upgrade

To upgrade this module, you need to:

Download the module and add it to your Odoo addons folder. Restart the server and log on to your Odoo server. Select the Apps menu and upgrade the module by clicking on the upgrade button.

If you installed the module using the "pip" command, you can also update the module in the same way. Just type the following command into the console:

pip install --upgrade --extra-index-url https://nexus.mukit.at/repository/odoo/simple <module>

When the process is finished, restart your server and update the application in Odoo, just like you would normally.

Configuration

To configure this module, you need to:

  1. Go to Documents -> Configuration -> Settings.
  2. Create a new document setting.
  3. Afterwards go to Documents -> Data -> Directories.
  4. Create a new directory, mark it as root and select the previously created setting.

Usage

The best way to manage the documents is to switch to the Documents view. Existing documents can be managed there and new documents can be created.

@Ostap Yakovenko can you please open a ticket on github (https://github.com/muk-it/muk_dms) and give me some more information. Do you use Odoo 10 or 11? Which version of Documents is installed on your system? Have you installed some or all of the Document extension modules? (If yes: which?)
