After installing our module, navigate to the User Menu as shown in the image below.
We have defined user roles within the activity model. By default, all users are assigned the 'User' role, allowing them to view only their own activities. If needed, you can assign other roles, such as 'Manager' or 'Administrator.' The 'Manager' role allows users to view their own activities as well as the activities of users for whom they are assigned as a manager. The 'Administrator' role grants access to all activities in the system.
You will see a menu labeled 'Activity Manager.' Navigate to this menu to manage activities.
You can view a dashboard for activities, as shown in the image below.
The dashboard offers various filters, such as activity stage, user, model, record, and type. Additionally, there are side panel filters, including All Activities, My Activities, My Activities Due Today, Overdue Activities, Rescheduled Activities, and Activities Due in 7 Days. You can also find a button to create a new activity. By clicking on a record, you can easily open it.
By clicking on the Activities menu, you can view a list of activities along with a search panel. From this view, you can also create a new activity.
This is how you create a new activity. From here, you can select the model and record. If you wish to assign a manager to the activity, you can do so, and you can also add tags for quick search of your activities.
The activity is successfully displayed in the document.
You can set reminders for activities, including pop-up notifications and email alerts. A value of '0' means the reminder is disabled. Additionally, you can configure the reminder to trigger in minutes, hours, or days.
In the image below, you can see how the pop-up reminder is displayed on the screen. By clicking on the document name, you can open the document.
The image below shows a reminder email for an activity. You can also open the record by clicking the 'Open Document' button displayed in the email.
If any activity is canceled and you wish to reschedule it, you can do so by clicking the 'Reschedule' button.
Select a new reschedule date and click the 'Reschedule' button to reschedule the activity.
Once rescheduled, the 'Reschedule' tag will appear under 'Rescheduled Activities,' and your activity will move to the regular stage. This 'Rescheduled Activities' filter is also available in the dashboard side panel.
To configure the Activity Manager, click on the 'Configuration' menu and then select 'Settings.'
In the image below, you can see the Mass Activity Configuration. 'Mass Activity' allows you to create activities for multiple records. To enable this feature, you can select the models in which you want to allow mass activity creation.
Once you have selected the models in the Mass Activity Configuration, the 'Create Activity' button will appear in the list view of those models. After selecting the records, click on this button to create activities.
Create the activity you want for the selected records.
View the activity created for all selected records.
In the Dashboard section, there is a configuration like 'Dashboard Refresh Time (Sec.)'. Here, you can set a time in seconds for the dashboard data to refresh automatically after the specified duration."
This color configuration allows you to customize the dashboard's primary color, side panel active color, side panel hover color, and the KPI colors for 'Today's,' 'Planned,' 'Overdue,' and 'Canceled' activities. You can also reset to the default colors by clicking the button next to each color option.
As you can see, I have changed the colors of the dashboard, and it now appears as shown.
Beside the Chatter tab, there is a tab to view all activities related to that document.
As you can see, all activities related to that document are displayed, including completed and canceled activities. You can also open any activity by clicking on its record.
