Why Use Gmail App Passwords?

Gmail and other providers block standard passwords for security. Use a 16-digit App Password, available via your Google account settings: Security › App Passwords.



Setup Guidelines

  1. Add IMAP Server: Navigate to the user's form and configure incoming mail server settings.
  2. Add SMTP Server: On the same user, configure the outgoing server with the correct credentials.
  3. Start Cron: Enable the built-in mail fetch cron to begin syncing emails automatically.
  4. Test: Send a test email through a Sales Order or any document and check the inbox and Odoo chatter.
