How to Use

Requirements

  • Must have atleast 1 account in Semaphore.

Install Semaphore SMS Integration in Odoo

  1. Activate developer mode
  2. Go to Apps
  3. Click on Update Apps List
  4. Search and install Semaphore SMS Integration

Get Api Key in Semaphore & Create Semaphore Account in Odoo

  1. Go to semaphore.co
  2. Sign In account
  3. Copy the API Key in the Dashboard
  4. In Odoo, go to Semaphore / Accounts
  5. Paste the API Key

Send a SMS using SMS Composer in Odoo

  1. In Odoo, go to Semaphore and click Send Messages menu choose SMS Composer
  2. Choose Send to Contacts in Composition Mode field
  3. Choose your newly created Sender Account
  4. Choose/Create your recipients
  5. Enter your message and click Send
  6. Check your Mobile Phone for messages
  7. Compose a new Message
  8. Choose Send to Numbers in Composition Mode field
  9. Choose your Sender Account
  10. Create a recipients
  11. Enter a message and send
  12. Check your Mobile Phone for messages

Send a SMS using Scheduled Messages in Odoo

  1. In Odoo, go to Semaphore and click Send Messages menu choose Scheduled Messages
  2. Choose your Semaphore Account in Account field
  3. Set a Schedule
  4. Compose a Message
  5. Choose a recipients
  6. Click Schedule
  7. By clicking send, you can manually send your scheduled message.
  8. Check your Mobile Phone for message

Create Semaphore SMS templates in Odoo

  1. In Odoo, go to the Settings click Technical menu choose Phone / SMS / Semaphore SMS Templates
  2. Click Dynamic Placeholder Generator tab
  3. Choose which field you want to use
  4. Set a default value
  5. Copy the placeholder expression
  6. Paste it to the message body in Body tab
  7. Set Sender Account in Sender tab

Use Automated Actions to send a SMS in Odoo with Semaphore.

  1. In Odoo, go to the Settings click Technical menu choose Automation/Automated Actions
  2. Select "Send SMS Text Message using Semaphore" in Action To Do field.
  3. Choose your newly created template.
  4. Set a Domain to which you want to send SMS messages
  5. Trigger your Automated Action with the set Model and Trigger fields.
  6. Check your Mobile Phone for message.

Limitations

  • Cannot receive replies
  • Need to buy load credits from Semaphore to be able to send messages
  • Limited mobile networks. See Semaphore website for list of supported networks (https://semaphore.co/)
