This module enables to fetch subject-wise filtered emails, from your email server and displays them automatically in a specified channel in the Odoo Discuss app.

This module fetches emails from your mail server and automatically displays them in your Odoo discuss channel.
These emails are filtered and displayed in a specified channel in the Odoo Discuss app.
It enables you to easily configure your email servers both incoming and out going and direct your subject-wise filtered emails into your Odoo discuss channel automatically.
This module works with both Enterprise and Community editions of Odoo

Configuration:
- Download and Install the app.
- Go to Settings; in the Discuss section, flag the box next to Custom Email Servers .
- Enter the domain name of email server in the field called Alias Domain and save the settings.
- Next step is to configure the incoming and outgoing email servers.


- Incoming Mail Server: Click on the Incoming mail server to access the mail server configuration form.


- Click the Create button and the following form opens. Enter the details


- Name: Enter the channel name created in discuss (explained later)
- Server Type: Select the server type IMAP Server as shown.
- Server Name: Enter the email server name.
- User Name: Enter the user name of your email server.
- Password: This must be the password of your email account to give access to your emails.
- SSL/TLS: Flag this box.
- Once these mandatory fields are filled press Test and Confirm and the stage changes to Confirmed, as shown


- Press the Fetch Now button to fetch the emails to Odoo.
- You can see the messages that are fetched successfully or failed to fetch in Action > Messages
- Outgoing Mail Server: Click on the Outgoing Mail Server to access the mail server configuration form.


- Click the Create button and the following form opens. Enter the details


- Description: Enter the channel name
- Connection Server: the SMTP domain name of the server.
- Connection Security: SSL/TSL
- Username: Your email server username
- Password: Your password.
- Once the details are entered press the Test Connection button to ensure the connection is working fine.
- Setting up the Channel:
- Go to Discuss and create a new channel by clicking the '+' sign as shown
- To configure the channel access the settings by clicking the ‘Gear’ icon.


- The following form appears.


- Enter the details as shown above.
- Make sure to specify the Mail Subject, this is the filter criterion through which the emails are fetched and filtered. A lack of subject would mean all the emails will be displayed.
- Members can be added to the group ie the ones who can access, view and send emails to this channel, via the Members tab, as shown below


- The emails only with the Filter Subject shown are displayed in the Discuss channel as shown.
