Demo video: Sales - Wallets

What it does

  1. Problem
    • With the eWallet app, businesses can manage and track transactions using customers' eWallet. Customers can also manage their eWallet balance, track relevant orders, and deposit into the eWallet from the portal view.
    • However, eWallet does not yet support linking e-wallets with the Sales app, leading to the difficult and time-consuming tracking process.
  2. Solution
    • The to_sale_wallet module was developed to establish the connection and automate flow between eWallet and Sales:
      • Enable Is Wallet Operation when creating invoices from sales orders, enabling the system to recognize customers' deposit;
      • Fill the invoice's total value into the Wallet Amount field, enabling the system to update the wallet's balance.

Editions Supported

Instruction video: Sales - Wallets

Concepts

When using this module, you need to learn some of the following concepts:

  • E-wallet: An online account/service that allows one party to make online payments for bills of goods and services. To use the wallet, you will need to top up the wallet and conduct the above payment transactions.
  • Is Wallet Operation: Informing the system which transactions need to be performed via an e-wallet.
  • Wallet Amount: Value of money deposited into the e-wallet.
  • Online payment transactions: Payment transactions using payment service providers such as Momo, VNpay, Paypal, Bank transfer, etc.

Usages

  • Step 1: Set up Paid by Wallet for the product:

Navigate to Sales > Products > Products to create a new product. At the Accounting tab, select Paid by Wallet:

Activate the Paid by Wallet feature for products
  • Step 2: Enable the online payment, create a sales order for this product and email the customer:
Activate the Paid by Wallet feature for products
  • Step 3: Customers access the portal to make online payments. Example of a customer making payment via bank transfer:
Access portal to make payment Payment orders
  • Step 4: When you receive the bank's credit note for this payment, confirm the sale order and press Create Invoice:
Create invoice from sales order
  • Step 5: Check the invoice, you will see that each invoice line is automatically marked as Is Wallet Operation:
Check the invoice
  • Step 6: Click on Payment Transaction to view the payment value and Wallet Amount of payment transaction from the customer:
Check the e-wallet amount
  • Step 7: Confirm, and register the payment for this invoice. The Wallet Amount will be automatically updated into the E-Wallet, and this value will be used to reconcile with the customer's payables.

If the customer pays through a service provider such as Momo, VNpay, etc., the system will automatically generate a payment slip to record this payment when the online payment transaction is completed, and the Wallet Amount is automatically loaded into the E-Wallet. You will only need to create an invoice and reconcile it with that Wallet Amount.

You need to use this module in conjunction with the to_wallet module to have an overview of the workflow of E-Wallet.
