Odoo Studio Lite For Employee
Odoo Studio Lite for Employee is a powerful tool that empowers users to effortlessly create and manage custom fields for the Employee module directly from the front view. This app simplifies the process of customizing employee data fields, ensuring a more tailored and efficient employee management system.
Features
Create Different Types of Fields
The Odoo Studio Lite for Employee app allows users to create a variety of field types directly from the front view. Users can choose from a wide range of field types such as Char, Integer, Float, Boolean, Selection, Many2one, Many2many, and more.
Set Attributes with Fields
Once a field is created, users can further enhance its functionality by setting various attributes. These attributes include options such as Readonly, Store, Indexed, Help, and Required. By defining these attributes, users can control the behavior of the fields, ensuring that certain fields are mandatory, providing helpful tooltips to users, or making fields non-editable once set.
Set Widget with Field
To optimize data input and visualization, users can assign specific widgets to fields. Options include Monetary for financial values, Many2many_tags for handling multiple selections, Binary for uploading files, Radio for single choice selections, Priority for setting task priorities, and many others.
Set Specific Location of Field
The app also offers users the ability to define the exact location of a field within the employee form. This customization allows users to arrange fields in a logical order that suits their specific workflow, whether itâs grouping fields by type or placing critical fields at the top of the form for easy access.

1.) Access Rights for Creating a Custom Field
To enable users to create custom fields, they must be assigned to the "Employee Custom Field" user group. This ensures only authorized users can modify the employee data structure.
Navigation : Settings → Users & Companies → User
2.) Create Field Button
Clicking the "Create Field" button opens a popup form where users can enter the details for their custom field. This feature simplifies the process of adding new fields, allowing quick customization.
Navigation : Employee → Contact
3.) Employee Custom Field
Here, users fill out all the necessary details for the new custom field, including the field name, label, type, position, widget, and extra properties. This step ensures the field is configured according to business needs.
4.) Employee Custom Field Created
Once the field is created, it appears at the designated position in the employee form. In this case, the "Test" field is placed after the Barcode field, as specified.
Navigation : Employee → Employee
5.) Field Types
Users can select the appropriate field type for their needs, such as Char, Integer, Float, Boolean, Selection, and more.
