POS Flexible Discount (Fixed Amount & Percentage Discount for POS)
POS Flexible Discount allows you to apply discounts in two different ways directly from the Odoo Point of Sale interface - either as a Fixed Amount or as a Percentage. This gives businesses the flexibility to provide quick and accurate discounting based on their sales strategy.
Features
Dual Discount Method (Fixed & Percentage)
This module introduces the ability to choose between Fixed Amount and Percentage discounts directly in the POS. Cashiers can enter a discount value and the system automatically interprets it according to the selected discount type.
Accurate Discount Reflection in Backend & Receipts
Discounts applied at the POS are correctly recorded and displayed in the backend POS Order lines. The system maintains both the method used and the exact discount value, ensuring transparency in financial records.

1.) Enable POS Flexible Discount (Global Setting)
This screenshot shows the global module activation setting in Odoo. To enable the flexible discount feature, navigate to Settings - INKERP App Base and check the option Allow POS Flexible Discount. Once enabled, this activates the discount configuration options throughout the POS system.
Navigation : Setting → INKERP → Allo Flexible POS Discount
2.) Choose Discount Type in POS Settings
Here the POS configuration screen allows the user to choose whether discounts will be applied as Fixed Amount or Percentage. Go to Settings - Point of Sale, and under POS Discount Type Setting, select the appropriate method.
Navigation : Setting → Point of Sale → POS Discount Type
3.) Product Added to POS Cart (Before Discount)
This screenshot displays a product added to the cart in the POS interface before any discount is applied. The item price and total amount are shown at full value. This serves as a reference point to clearly compare the difference once a discount is applied, highlighting how the flexible discount feature adjusts the order totals in real time.
4.) Applying Fixed Amount Discount in POS
This screenshot demonstrates applying a Fixed Discount to the selected product. By pressing the % discount button and entering a value, the system deducts the discount as a flat amount. The discounted price and updated total are immediately visible in the order summary. This makes fixed discounting quick and intuitive for POS cashiers.
5.) Switching to Percentage Discount Type
This configuration screen shows the POS being set to use Percentage Discount instead of fixed amount. By selecting the Percentage(%) option in POS Discount Type Setting, all discounts entered will be calculated as a percentage of the product price. This allows for dynamic discounting based on promotional campaigns or seasonal offers.
Navigation : Setting → Point of Sale → POS Discount Type
6.) Applying Percentage Discount in POS
This screenshot demonstrates a Percentage Discount applied to the selected product. After entering the percentage value, the system automatically recalculates the price based on the percentage reduction. The updated unit price and order total reflect the discount immediately, ensuring clear pricing transparency for both staff and customers.
