Operation Type Restriction
The Operation Type Restriction module for Odoo empowers administrators to manage access to stock picking and inventory operations with precision. It allows specific users to be restricted from viewing, creating, or editing particular operation types, enhancing security and control over sensitive inventory activities.
Features
Operation Type Access Restriction
This feature enables administrators to define which users can view or interact with specific operation types. By limiting access based on roles or user groups, it ensures sensitive operations are only accessible to authorized personnel.
Creation & Editing Permissions
Admins can assign group-based permissions to restrict users from creating or modifying operation types. This prevents accidental or intentional alterations by unauthorized staff and streamlines operational management.
Error Notification for Unauthorized Actions
Users attempting actions outside their permissions are promptly notified with clear error messages. This immediate feedback prevents unauthorized operations and guides users on the limits of their access.

1.) Viewing All Operation Types
Users initially have access to all available operation types, providing a clear overview of inventory operations before restrictions are applied.
Navigation : Inventory → Configuration → Operation Types
2.) Assigning Operation Type Restriction Group
Admins assign the "Operation Type Restriction" group to users, enabling controlled access based on assigned permissions.
Navigation : Settings → Users & Companies → Users
3.) Setting Restricted Operation Types
Specific operation types can be restricted for selected users, ensuring they only see and interact with allowed operations.
4.) Restricted Operation Types Visibility
Once restrictions are applied, the designated operation types are hidden from unauthorized users, enforcing access control.
5.) Applying Operation Type Creation Restriction
Users blocked from creating new operation types are assigned the "Operation Type Creation Restriction" group to prevent unauthorized additions.
6.) Error on Operation Type Creation
Unauthorized users receive an error message when attempting to create a new operation type, reinforcing permission policies.
7.) Applying Operation Type Edit Restriction
Admins prevent users from editing operation types by assigning the "Operation Type Edit Restriction" group.
8.) Error on Operation Type Editing
Attempts by restricted users to edit operation types trigger an error message, ensuring operational integrity.
