When a category has subcategories, clicking on the category tile will navigate the user to a dedicated subcategory page before showing the products within that subcategory.
Detailed Features
Set Up
Go to the Odoo Apps section, search for the "Website Shop Categories Grid View" app, and click to install the app.
Work Flow
After enabling the app, navigate to the Website module of your
Odoo and open the shop page. In editor mode, click on any product image, and select the Customize menu.
In the customization options, enable the Top Button for the
categories. Once this is done, save your
changes.
After saving, you'll notice that your products have been replaced by Categories on the shop page.
To adjust the size or layout of the categories, go back to the Customize menu and scroll down to find the Category Size option. Here, you can modify the appearance as needed.
To manage your categories, navigate to the eCommerce section, then click on eCommerce Categories . This allows you to control and organize your categories. In addition to parent categories, sub-categories will also be displayed in the grid layout thanks to this app. For instance, consider the Furniture category as an example.
When you click on the Furniture category, sub-categories like Chairs and Couches will appear in a similar grid layout.
By selecting the Chairs subcategory, you will see all the products listed under this specific eCommerce category.
