How to Set Up Tax Definition

Follow these simple steps to set up the Tax Definition feature:

  1. Go to Accounting → Configuration → Taxes
  2. Open an existing tax or create a new one
  3. Look for the Definition of tax field that appears immediately after the Amount field
  4. Select the appropriate tax definition from the dropdown menu:
  • Sales Tax 15% - for standard sales tax
  • Local Sales 0% - for domestic zero-rated sales
  • Goverment Sales 0% - for government sales
  • Export Sales 0% - for export transactions
  • Exempt Sales Tax 0% - for tax-exempt sales
  • Purchase Tax 15% - for standard purchase tax
  • Expense Tax 15% - for expense related taxes
  • Import tax 15% Paid to customs - for import duties paid at customs
  • Reverse charge provision Tax 15% - for reverse charge mechanism
  • Purchases 0% - for zero-rated purchases
  • Exempt Purchases 0% - for tax-exempt purchases
  • Save the tax configuration
  • The tax will now be automatically included in the correct section of your KSA tax report
  • Note: The Tax Definition feature works alongside the traditional tax naming system. Taxes are recognized based on either:

    • Their Arabic name (e.g., ضريبة مبيعات 15%)
    • Their English name (e.g., Sales Tax 15%)
    • The new Tax Definition classification

This gives you multiple ways to ensure your taxes are correctly categorized in the KSA tax report.

New in Odoo 16: Tax Definition Classification System

We've added a powerful new feature in the Odoo 15 version of this module: Tax Definition Classification.

    Simplified Tax Setup

The new Tax Definition field allows you to easily classify your taxes according to KSA requirements. This works alongside the traditional tax naming system, giving you more flexibility.

    Enhanced Tax Reporting

Taxes are now automatically detected based on either their name or the new Tax Definition field, ensuring proper classification in all reports.

    Multiple Identification Methods

Taxes can be identified through multiple criteria: tax name in Arabic, tax name in English, or the new Tax Definition field - providing maximum flexibility.

    Improved Compatibility

The new classification system ensures better compatibility with various accounting setups and third-party modules.

I don't recommend to buy this module unless it's based on invoices.
