An Odoo Gantt view that works on Community too
A self-contained, cross-module Gantt chart with drag-and-drop scheduling, task dependencies, progress bars, and over-allocation warnings — no Enterprise license and no separate base module required.
Odoo ships a native Gantt only in Enterprise, and only for a few core models. Community users get no timeline at all, and most third-party Gantt apps are locked to Project, priced per module, and never warn you when a person is over-booked.

Frequently asked
Does it need Odoo Enterprise or a separate base module?
No. The Gantt is self-contained and depends only on Project and web, so it delivers the same features on Community, Enterprise and Odoo.sh with nothing extra to buy.
Can I use it for models other than Project tasks?
Yes. Create a configuration record, choose the model, and map its start, stop, and progress fields. The same timeline then works for CRM, Manufacturing, HR, Sales, or any custom model — no XML needed.
How does the over-allocation warning work?
The timeline spreads each task's planned hours across its days and sums them per assignee. When a person's daily total passes their configured capacity, the Gantt raises an over-allocation badge for that day.
What happens when I drag a task to a new date?
The new dates are written back to the record immediately, and any tasks that depend on it are shifted by the same amount so the schedule stays consistent.
