In Odoo, a Bus Booking Management System is available to help manage online bus ticket bookings easily. Portal users can select their route, bus type, travel date, and time to search for available buses. Only the buses that match the selected options will appear. Once the user chooses a bus, the available seats are shown. The system highlights seats using different colours. Booked seats are disabled and shown in a different colour, while available and selected seats are marked. For each selected seat, the passenger must fill in their details. After that, the user can proceed to payment. Once the payment is completed successfully, the booking is confirmed. A ticket is generated for download, and the user receives a confirmation via email, SMS, or WhatsApp, depending on the notification settings. If there is no existing trip for the selected route and date, the system automatically creates a new trip. Otherwise, the booking is linked to an existing one. A payment record is also saved in the system. This helps with easy tracking of transactions and seat bookings. The exact process works in the admin dashboard. Admins can choose the route and date to view buses, select unbooked seats, enter passenger details, and confirm bookings. Notifications are sent, and trip and payment records are updated. The admin can also print or email the ticket directly from the backend. Other valuable features include ticket cancellation using the ticket number and generating detailed reports of seat bookings by route. Cabin Officer Dashboard
In the booking dashboard, when I choose the start and end points and date, the available buses and routes are fetched. Once I have selected a bus, the seat map appears with available, booked, and allocated seats options. From there, I can go ahead with the booking.

Once confirmed and payment is done, a ticket is generated, and
confirmation is sent via SMS, email, and WhatsApp. The booking is
recorded, and if no trip exists for that date and route, a new trip
is automatically created.

Cabin Officer Dashboard
On the Cabin Officer Dashboard, users first select the start point,
end point, and journey date. Based on this, the system loads all
available buses and routes for that day, showing key details like
bus name, timings, fare, seat availability, and amenities.
Clicking on a bus shows its seat layout, with color-coded seats:
green (available), red/grey (booked), and blue (selected). Users can
easily choose their seats, view fare, and proceed to enter passenger
details.
After seat selection and filling in details, users can confirm
booking. A ticket is generated with all info (bus name, seat
numbers, timing, etc.) and sent via email, SMS, or WhatsApp. The
process is fast, user-friendly, and fully interactive.

Bus Booking Trip
Customers can easily make a reservation for a bus trip by choosing
their origin, destination, and travel date. The system will then
show the list of live trips for that particular day with the
up-to-date seat availability. A trip is associated with an assigned
bus and route, and the system displays a seat map where the seats
are marked as Available or Booked. After choosing seats, customers
enter their passenger information and complete the booking. Once
booked: A ticket is generated with complete trip and passenger info.
The ticket can be printed or sent via WhatsApp, SMS, or Email.
Admins can also print trip reports showing seat bookings and
passenger lists.

Ticket Cancellation
Customers can cancel their bus reservation with ease by filling in
their ticket number in the cancellation area. Upon verification of
the ticket number, the system verifies the reservation status and
initiates the cancellation process. On successful cancellation, a
confirmation message is sent to the user through email, and
optionally through SMS or WhatsApp. The cancelled seats instantly
become available again for the same trip and route, allowing others
to book them in real time. The seat layout is automatically updated
to reflect this change, with the seats shown as available (usually
in green). If a cancellation policy exists, for example, deduction
charges or a time limit, it is enforced and displayed to the user
during the cancellation process; this seat management provides a
good experience for both users and operators.

selects a specific start point, end point, and journey date, the
system fetches all the trips scheduled for that route on the
