Library Management System Odoo

The Library Management System Odoo app is a simple yet powerful tool designed to make library
operations easy and efficient. It helps libraries manage books, members, and borrowing processes
smoothly. With this app, you can register members, issue library cards with unique QR codes, and
keep track of books borrowed and returned. It allows you to manage details like authors,
publishers, book editions, locations, and conditions. Members can view their borrowing history
and return dates in portal, making it convenient for them to stay updated.
The system ensures books are returned on time by allowing librarians to set borrowing durations
and limits for each member. If a book is returned late, the app automatically calculates and
generates a fine invoice based on configurable daily rates. To help members remember due dates,
the app sends email notifications when they borrow a book and reminders before the return date.
Librarians can also track book maintenance by creating requests, monitoring book conditions, and
viewing maintenance history. If multiple members request the same book, the system shows its
circulation history to keep track of availability.
The app makes browsing the library collection easier by displaying books with front and back
cover images. It also includes a reporting module to generate detailed issue and return reports,
print library cards, and export data as PDFs. The Library Dashboard provides a clear overview of
all library activities, helping managers analyze trends and performance. With features like

integration with other modules
We are considering buying this module. Is the book model based on the products model? Can the borrow / issue function be linked to individial copies of the book, or only to the book itself? Are the author and publisher models based on res.partner?
