It helps you to import bank statements provided in the CAMT (Cash Management) XML format, which is the standard format recommended by SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) for bank-to-customer account reporting.
What is the CAMT format?
CAMT (Cash Management) is an XML-based file format recommended by SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) for bank-to-customer account reporting. It provides detailed account statements and transaction information in a standardized structure.
Which CAMT versions are supported?
The module is compatible with common CAMT format CAMT.053 provided your bank uses SEPA-compliant XML.
Can I import multiple CAMT files at once?
Yes. You can upload one or multiple ZIP archives containing multiple CAMT XML files, and the module will process them in a single import operation.
Do I need special configuration after installation?
No special configuration is required. The module automatically adds ZIP support to existing bank journals. Just ensure your bank journals are properly configured with correct account numbers and currencies.
Do the CAMT files have to come from the same bank?
No. The ZIP file(s) can contain CAMT statements from different bank accounts or even different banks as long as the files follow the SEPA CAMT format.
Does this module work with the standard Odoo bank reconciliation feature?
Yes. The imported statements appear in the Bank Reconciliation Dashboard, where you can match transactions with invoices, payments, and other accounting entries.
Do I need any other modules installed before using this?
Yes. The standard Odoo CAMT import module (account_bank_statement_import_camt) must be installed first, as this module extends its functionality.
Is the module compatible with the Odoo Community Edition?
No. This module is tested and supported only for Odoo Enterprise Edition v17.0.
Will it work if my bank sends password-protected ZIP files?
No. The ZIP file must be unprotected for the system to process it. You will need to remove the password before importing.
What happens if one of the files in my ZIP is invalid or not in CAMT format?
The module will skip invalid files and process the valid ones. An error message will indicate any skipped files so you can review and fix them.
Can I schedule automatic imports for ZIP CAMT files?
This module supports manual imports only. However, automation can be developed as a custom enhancement upon request.
