Connection setup between Odoo and QBD

  • Fill necessary information in Odoo configuration to connect to Quickbooks Desktop as shown in image below.

  • Click on Test Connection after filling out details. If your connection is successful to Quickbooks Desktop, then you will get following message as shown in image below.

Synchronization

  • There are two ways your records get synchronized between Odoo and QBD. One is through Schedulers and other through buttons provided in Import & Export tabs
  • To import your records manually from QBD to Odoo click on Import tab. Where these buttons allow you to fetch records in batches only.
  • To export your records manually from Odoo to QBD click on Export tab. Where these buttons allow you to send records in batches only.

Default Account Configuration

  • User will have to set up Income/Expense account for Product and Receivable/Payable account for Customer in QBD Account Configuration tab.

Record Synchronisation

  • Once record get successfully synchronised between QBD and Odoo the Quickbooks id field get successfully updated in Odoo.

Loggers

  • We have provided loggers options where we can check about the errors we have faced while importing/exporting records under QBD Logger tab.

Note: QODBC Desktop Edition Read Write Driver for Quickbooks is required depending on QODBC edition

You can find QBD configuration in Settings -> Your Company -> Quickbooks Desktop Configuration.

Once you download this module you will see the configuration file in that folder. Follow stpes mention in that file and fill up all necessary information as specified in the documentation shared by Pragmatic Techsoft Pvt Ltd.

QODBC Desktop Edition Read Write Driver for QuickBooks is required depending on QODBC edition.

A Costly Mistake

I recently purchased the Odoo QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) Connector by Pragmatic TechSoft Pvt Ltd, and it has been an absolute nightmare. I strongly advise against buying this software due to its numerous issues and the company's unhelpful policies.

Firstly, the software is riddled with problems and doesn't work as intended. Whether you're trying to import or export data, or even performing manual operations, the software returns random errors consistently. This has rendered the product completely useless for our business needs.

Furthermore, the code quality is severely lacking. It's apparent that the software was not developed with care or attention to detail. This is unacceptable for a product in this price range, and it severely undermines its reliability and functionality.

Our experience with their customer support has been equally frustrating. Despite opening a support ticket 18 days ago, we have only received nonsensical responses that have not resolved any of our issues. The lack of effective support indicates a significant disregard for customer satisfaction.

To make matters worse, when we requested a refund due to the non-functioning software, our request was flatly refused. Pragmatic TechSoft Pvt Ltd seems more interested in taking your money than ensuring their product works as advertised. This refusal to refund for a faulty product is unacceptable and adds to the overall negative experience.

In conclusion, avoid the Odoo QuickBooks Desktop (QBD) Connector by Pragmatic TechSoft Pvt Ltd at all costs. The software doesn't work, the support is ineffective, and they refuse to refund your money for a non-functional product. This has been a costly mistake for us, and I urge potential buyers to look for more reliable alternatives.
