Is this compatible with Odoo Enterprise and Community?
Yes. Fully compatible with Odoo Enterprise (On-premise and Odoo.SH) and Odoo Community. Not compatible with Odoo Online (SaaS) as it does not support third-party apps.
Do I get free support after purchase?
Yes, 60 days of free support from the date of purchase. Each Odoo version is sold separately.
Do I need a TaxJar subscription?
Yes. You need a TaxJar account with API access. The connector uses your TaxJar API token to fetch rates and record transactions. If you are unsure which TaxJar plan you need, ask us and we will point you in the right direction.
Does it work outside the United States?
The connector is built for US sales tax, so your company must be based in the United States. Your customers can pay in other currencies though, and amounts are converted to USD automatically when sent to TaxJar.
Will it slow down my quotations?
No. The connector remembers rates it has already looked up and reuses them, so most orders are instant. You decide how often rates should be refreshed from TaxJar: every few minutes, hours, days, or weeks.
Can I try it before going live?
Yes. Switch the account to sandbox (test) mode and experiment freely with TaxJar's test environment. Flip back to production whenever you are ready.
What happens to refunds and cancelled invoices?
Credit notes are sent to TaxJar as refunds, and if you reset an invoice to draft it is removed from TaxJar automatically. Odoo and TaxJar always stay in step.
I already have months of invoices. Can I send them to TaxJar?
Yes. Use the bulk export wizard: pick a from-date and a to-date, click one button, and all posted invoices in that range are sent to TaxJar.
Does it handle customers who don't pay sales tax?
Yes. Mark a customer as wholesale, government, or entity exempt and their orders are taxed accordingly. If a customer and their delivery address disagree, you get a warning with a one-click fix.

The worst connector ever! 0 Rating!
Absolutely unacceptable experience with Teqstars and their Odoo TaxJar connector.
We had nexus set up in multiple states, including Florida, and expected the Teqstars app to accurately calculate and report taxes accordingly. It failed miserably—tax wasn't calculated properly for Florida or several other nexus states where we are legally obligated to collect and remit sales tax.
To make matters worse, "ghost" orders were inexplicably sent from Odoo to TaxJar via the Teqstars connector—orders that we never collected tax on, yet we're now being held liable by the states because TaxJar thinks we owe those amounts.
When we reached out to Teqstars support to get to the bottom of this (which clearly points to an issue with their connector), they had the audacity to tell us we needed to purchase a support pack just for them to investigate the problem. We're essentially being charged to fix a problem they caused.
This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional, it's reckless and costly for businesses relying on their software to stay compliant. If you care about accurate tax reporting and support that takes responsibility for their own product issues, stay far away from Teqstars.

Our TaxJar connector is certified and verified by the TaxJar team, and is currently being used by over 100 active customers without experiencing the kind of issues you've mentioned. The integration functions strictly based on the configuration provided at the account level—it sends data exactly as it exists in your Odoo order invoice, including tax settings, customer details, and nexus rules. It does not generate or alter transactions independently.
Our integration exports Odoo invoice data to TaxJar as transactions, strictly based on the configuration you’ve set in your system. This includes respecting your defined nexus locations and customer address details. The connector does not alter or guess any values—it simply transmits what’s configured. To maintain full transparency, we also provide detailed logs for every transaction, so you can easily review exactly what data was sent to TaxJar and why.
If the issue had been with our integration, we would have gladly resolved it. However, the problem clearly stems from your system configuration, not the connector itself. I’ve already spoken with Sunny and specifically asked for even one transaction that doesn’t match the TaxJar record—but no such details have been provided. Without that, it’s not possible to validate your claim.

Excellent module with great customer support
The Teqstars team was amazingly responsive to my questions and requests, and did everything possible to make this TaxJar connector fulfill all of our needs. TaxJar is more functional than TaxCloud and more affordable than Avalara. The app makes it easy to use with Odoo, and the few changes we requested were done quickly and efficiently.
