Fully compatible with Odoo setups that manage multiple companies and warehouses, applying rules accordingly.
Alert for Negative Stock Entry in POS
Integrates with modules that warn or prevent the entry of products with negative stock into POS orders, maintaining inventory integrity.
Overview
Restrict Negative Stock
-
The Restrict Negative Stock module in Odoo helps businesses maintain accurate inventory by preventing stock levels from falling below zero for stockable products.
-
It automatically blocks any stock operations such as deliveries, pickings, or manufacturing that would reduce stock below zero.
-
This ensures that all stock movements are valid and inventory data remains reliable.
-
The module also allows exceptions at the product, product category, or warehouse location level for more flexibility.

Configuration
Allow Negative Stock on Product
Go to Inventory → Products → Products
Open any product you want to control.
In the General Information tab, find the field named Allow Negative Stock.
Uncheck it to restrict negative stock for this product, or check it if the product should be allowed to go below zero.
If the option is checked, Odoo will allow the transaction even when the stock goes below zero, meaning the product’s available quantity can become negative after the operation.
If the Allow Negative Stock option is unchecked, Odoo will stop you from making deliveries, transfers, or sales when there is not enough stock available.
Allow Negative Stock on Product Category
Navigate to Inventory → Configuration → Product Categories.
Open the category you want to control.
Enable or disable the Allow Negative Stock option.
This applies the rule to all products inside that category.
Allow Negative Stock on Locations
Go to Inventory → Configuration → Locations.
Open the desired stock location.
Use the Allow Negative Stock option to define whether that location can go below zero.
Negative Stock Blocked on Validation
When you try to validate a stock operation (like a delivery or transfer) that would reduce stock below zero, Odoo will block it with an error.
This stops negative stock from occurring unless the product, category, or location has “Allow Negative Stock” enabled. It helps keep your inventory accurate and stops mistakes.
