Run Scrum sprints natively inside Odoo Project
Sprint backlogs, story points, burndown and velocity charts, defined Scrum roles, and retrospectives — all layered directly on the Project app your team already uses.
Teams running Scrum inside a company already built on Odoo end up choosing between a separate Agile tool that duplicates task and time data, or forcing sprint work into generic Odoo Project stages with no concept of sprints, velocity, or burndown. Either way, delivery visibility suffers and data splits across two systems.
This module turns Odoo Project into a full Scrum toolkit — sprints, story-point estimation, a dedicated sprint board, automatic burndown and velocity charts, defined Scrum roles, and structured retrospectives — all layered directly on the Project and Task models you already use, so Scrum and non-Scrum work coexist in one system.
Everything a Scrum team needs, built on Odoo Project
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Sprint Backlog & Lifecycle
Plan, start, and close sprints with goals, dates, and team capacity; each sprint tracks its own backlog of tasks pulled straight from Odoo Project.
Native Task Integration
Scrum tasks are ordinary Odoo Project tasks with a Sprint and Story Points field added, so Scrum and non-Scrum work run side by side in the same system.
Sprint Board
A dedicated kanban board groups tasks by stage for the sprint currently in progress, giving the whole team one clear working surface.
Burndown Charts
Daily remaining-points snapshots plot a real burndown line against the ideal pace, recorded automatically by a scheduled background job.
Velocity Tracking & Forecasting
Every closed sprint records its velocity; average velocity across completed sprints helps size the next sprint's commitment realistically.
Defined Scrum Roles
Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Development Team are modeled as security groups with role-appropriate access, not a one-size-fits-all view.
Sprint Retrospectives
Capture what went well and what to improve after every sprint, with tracked, assignable action items so improvement work is never lost in meeting notes.
Multi-Sprint Roadmap
A kanban roadmap view orders every sprint by start date, giving stakeholders a release-level view without needing a separate roadmapping tool.
Auto-Generated Review Summaries
Closing a sprint automatically compiles completed, in-progress, and carried-over work into a ready-to-share sprint review summary.
How it works
Designate a Scrum Project
Flag any Odoo project as Scrum-managed from its settings; a dedicated Scrum menu becomes the default place to work sprints.
Plan the Sprint
Create a sprint, set its goal and dates, and pull tasks into the backlog with story-point estimates.
Run the Board
Start the sprint to lock in committed points and begin tracking daily burndown; the team works from the sprint board through to done.
Close & Reflect
Close the sprint to capture velocity and an auto-generated review summary, then run a retrospective to track improvement actions.
See it in action
Fourteen views covering the full Scrum lifecycle, from sprint board to retrospective.
The Sprint Board groups tasks by stage so the team always has one clear view of what is in progress, in review, and done.
The multi-sprint roadmap orders every sprint by start date, giving stakeholders a release-level view of upcoming and past sprints.
The sprint list view surfaces committed points, completed points, velocity, and progress across every sprint at a glance.
The sprint form tracks goal, dates, capacity, and the sprint backlog, with Start/Close actions and smart buttons for tasks and retrospective.
The Burndown tab on the sprint form lists daily remaining-points snapshots recorded automatically as the sprint progresses.
Closing a sprint auto-generates a Review Summary listing completed, in-progress, and carried-over work — ready for the sprint review meeting.
The velocity chart plots each sprint's completed story points, the core input for realistic capacity forecasting.
The burndown chart plots remaining story points against the ideal pace, giving the Scrum Master real-time sprint health at a glance.
The Backlog list shows every Scrum task with its sprint and story-point columns, ready to be planned into the next sprint.
The Retrospectives list tracks every sprint retrospective and how many action items each one produced.
Each retrospective captures what went well and what to improve, with tracked, assignable action items.
The standard Odoo task form gains Sprint and Story Points fields, so Scrum estimation lives on the same task record as everything else.
Flagging a project as Scrum-managed adds a Sprints smart button, linking straight into that project's sprint history.
The Configuration screen lists every Scrum-managed project in one place, the entry point for designating new Scrum projects.
Frequently asked
Does this replace Odoo's native Project app?
No. It builds directly on top of Project and Task — Scrum and non-Scrum work coexist in the same projects, so you keep every existing workflow and simply add sprints, story points, and Scrum views where you need them.
Can non-Scrum tasks and Scrum tasks live in the same project?
Yes. Flagging a project as Scrum-managed adds sprint planning and the Scrum menu, but ordinary Odoo Project tasks and views keep working unchanged alongside them.
How is burndown data calculated?
A daily scheduled action snapshots each active sprint's remaining story points, plotted against an ideal linear pace from the sprint's committed points down to zero at the sprint end date.
Can I control who sees sprint and retrospective data?
Yes. Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Development Team are modeled as dedicated security groups, so access to sprints, burndown data, and retrospectives follows each role.
